Boil water advisories were put into effect and remain in effect in hoboken today. Theyre dealing with a major blow, however, to local businesses who also dealt with flooding. She says she was injured by whatever was thrown at her face, and she went to the hospital. She was also thrown to the ground during the robbery, according to investigators. According to police, hes violently attacked and robbed at least three women in recent weeks. The victims range in age from 64 to 72. In one instance, ruperto stole a 72yearold womans purse last week. The victim also was sprayed in the face with some kind of liquid and thrown to the ground during the robbery. The suspect is about five feet tall, 125 pounds. Police say two men were paddling on that lake when their canoe capsized early yesterday. One man made it to shore. The other disappeared. The search at this point is considered to be a recovery operation. In westchester county, the search continues for a small plane in a reservoir in north salem. That plane traveling from mississippi to danbury when it disappeared from radar last thursdays. Crews did find the rear section human remains ols report also reportedly discovered. In new jersey, hundreds of religious books and several sacred scrolls were laid to rest after a devastating fire at an historic synagogue. The video shows peter gold stepping in to save a woman being dragged down the street. Police say the gunman shot gold in the stomach and tried to shoot him in the head more than once, but the gun jammed. Gold is recovering. The shooter is on the run. Former congresswoman Gabby Giffords tweeted goal achieved after he took part in this weekends Charity Bike Ride in tucson, arizona. She did it on a special bike because giffords remains partially paralyzed five years after she was critically wounded. She rode 11 miles in last years event. So we can only speculate. She had made it about half a mile away from the zoo. Shes now scheduled to be moved to the knoxville, tennessee, zoo as part of a survival plan. We didnt have to go far, really, to find all of the water that remains from that break, even though pressure has been restored. Now, beefed up patrol of about 20 hoboken officers will be guiding cars around destours cause detours caused by the water main break. Water pressure has been restored, but you can see why many areas experienced issues over the weekend. Officials are stemming us that a 16inch water main break that brings water to both hoboken and the newport area of jersey city. The boil water advisories were put into effect. One does remain in hoboken this morning. It dealt a major blow to local businesses who also dealt with flooding. Water was almost up to the restaurant. Football is crazy, so we missed out on a huge brunch this morning, which is devastating. Reporter well, to show you now the areas still shut down as a result of that water main break. Police say a homeless man stumbled upon a stash of stolen military weapons in a trash bag at Yankee Stadium and turned them in. They were traced to Army ReservistJames Walker Morales. Reporter well, michael, we really dont know because, as you see over my shoulder, were still not out of the woods yet even though pressure has been restored. Were on observer highway near paterson avenue, just one of the places cars will have to try and get around as crews try to repair damage done by that water main break. Chopper 4, as you mentioned, over the scene showing the streets still having issues this morning. Its the reason that hobokens Police Department has beefed up their Traffic Enforcement by 20 officers today. According to suez, theyre advising residents to boil their water in hoboken for at least a minute. Thats something that remains in effect this morning. This is a broken valve on a transmission line that affected water pressure in both hoboken and jersey city. Now, it has been since repaired, but the office of Emergency Management in Hudson County actually dispatched water tankers at some points to a handful of locations throughout the city to try and give residents fresh Drinking Water. You never know until you went without it. Things like coffee. You cant make coffee without water. You know, doing dishes, things such as that nature. Washing things, washing your hands. Reporter now, there are many detours as a result of this. Harrison street is shut down from paterson to newark. And jackson street is closed from paterson to newark as well. Again, that boil water advisory still in effect for hoboken. We just saw a woman actually wading through that water over thats something a lot of people will be doing today. Right now police are asking for your help tracking down the man wanted for at least three attacks on older women in the bronx. Today in new yorks Katherine Creag is in the melrose section of the bronx with a picture police want you to see. Kat . Reporter darlene, you said it. These are some vulnerable victims. Theyre women in their 60s. One of them is elderly and theyre alone when attack and robbed. The latest attack happened where we are. Theres the wanted poster of the suspect. Hes 26 years old, Gilrael Ruperto. According to investigators, hes violently attacked and robbed at least three women in recent weeks. The victims range in age from 64 to 72. In one instance, ruperto stole a 72yearold womans purse last week. The victim was sprayed in the face with some kind of liquid and thrown to the ground during the robbery, according to investigators. The suspect is about 5 feet tall, 125 pounds. News 4 investigates as learned the suspect has a criminal past. In fact, it was one year ago about this time he was arrested for another theft. It happened last night at the pier 1 imports on jericho turnpike in Huntington Station. A gunman wearing a mask tied up the Stores Customers and employees, forced a worker to open the safe and cash register, then took off. Police say there have been at least four similar robberies in suffolk since september. Divers are resuming the search for a missing canoeist in new jersey. Theyll be back in the water at White Meadow Lake in Morris County later today. Police say two men were paddling on the lake at 3 00 a. M. Yesterday when their canoe capsized. One ma did make it to shore. The other disappeared. The search is now considered a recovery operation. And the search also continues for a small plane in westchester county. Crews found the back part of the plane and other debris in a reservoir in north salem this weekend. Human remains were also reportedly discovered. The plane was heading to danbury when it apparently crashed last thursday. Two people were believed to be on board. Well, princeton universitys president is now responding to students who want former u. S. President Woodrow Wilsons legacy wiped from the campus. City comptroller Scott Stringer is warning watch out for one hidden and expensive fee. His survey finds nearly all the rental companies charge you extra if you use their easy pass. And water pressure has been restored for most of this area, but as you can see, crews still have a major issue on their hand when it comes to cleanup. Boil watered advisory ies were put into effect. They remain here in hoboken. As a result of all the flooding, there are several streets that will be detoured.
