A 51yearold feasterville Manley Kaplan is now in custody charged with statutory Sexual Assault indecent assault corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor after he was found in that home right there on the 400 block of old state road yesterday with about 11 female children inside the home. The children ranging in age from six months to 18 years old, kaplan in custody right now along with a man and woman from Lancaster County believed to be the parents of several of those children. The relationship between kaplan and that couple not known right now but all three of them are being held at bucks county jail. Again, the details of this disturbing case emerging as we speak. Six of the people shot inside an orlando nightclub last weekend are still in Critical Condition today. And more of the 49 killed are being laid to rest as we speak. All of this comes as the citys mayor is setting up a fund to distribute more than 7 million in donation directly to the grieving families. A designated assistant center is providing other helpful resources. Over 200 Free Airline Tickets have been provided to grieving families to reunite them with their loved ones. So far 85 compensation claims have been filed for victims to receive help from medical or funeral expenses. The suspect who tried to steal from a bucks county man was officially charged way crime today but so was his intended victim. Police say Joshua Dennis was trying to break into a car parked outside the woodland manor apartments in morrisville yesterday. The owner sean jones nosd him and confronted him. Jones got in his car and chased him. Dennis crashed a mile away. Jones pulled a gun and shot him in the arm. Today dennis was charged with the attempted robbery but jones was also charged with aggravated assault and other offenses. Police are urging folks not to chase down suspects in these kinds of situations. Police are questioning the driver they say hit a pair of teens in the Spring Garden section of philadelphia and kept going. They think this may be a case of dui. Action News Reporter Trish Hartman live at the scene on broad street with more now. Trish. Reporter monica, one of those teens is still in Critical Condition this afternoon, a suspect is in custody. Were still waiting to learn his name from police to release his name and any possible charges after he was found not far from the crime scene. The bike was mangled. You know, like i said, the tire was seemed like a hundred yards or so from the bike. Reporter eric ore works near the scene of this crash in the Spring Garden section. He arrived at work while police were still investigating the hit and run that hurt two teens on a bike. Its scary. I mean, i dread summertime because of it. Those bikes, motorcycles, people not paying attention. Reporter it was around 2 00 a. M. When police say a group of teens were riding their bikes in the 600 block of north broad street. They were riding southbound in the northbound lanes when two of the boys riding on the same bike were struck by a red lexus. Witnesses say the car was speeding and fled after the crash. The boys, both 16 years old were taken to hahnemann for treatment. One suffered a broken leg but the other suffered severe head trauma. The impact was so severe it caused the front tire of the bicycle to be torn from the bicycle and that front tire landed about 50 feet north. Reporter just minutes after the crash, the driver and the sports car were found around the corner near ridge and wallace. The car had significant front end today. Police say the 34yearold driver seemed to be intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. Witnesses were transported to the car and they positively identified the car as the striking vehicle and they also identified the driver. Reporter now, 25yearold passenger was taken in to be interviewed. The driver was taken for a breathalyzer test. Deliberations in the climb of chaka fattah had to start over today after a judge had to replace a member of the jury. Fattah is charged with racketeering bribery and money laundering. The case against the pennsylvania congressman went to the jury on wednesday. But this morning a judge dismissed a member of that jury and with an alternate coming on that means deliberations had to go back to the beginning. The court did not release the reason why the juror was dismissed. Fattah lost his bid for reelection in the april primary. Time for a check of the accuweather forecast. Theyre trying to get that out of the way but taking out the lefthand lane and the northbound lanes approaching at cottman we have an accident taking out the lefthand lane as well so keep that in minds on 95. Taking a look at the big picture speeds dropping down into the Single Digits on the schuylkill expressway. Slow from the blue route to the vine street expressway. You can see 8 miles per hour. The blue route had been slow all afternoon from saint davids all the way to 95. You can expect about a 15mile delay back up there on those roadways. Taking a look into new jersey, the admiral wilson boulevard is really at a standstill. You can see here 130 approaching 130, because of that road closure on 38. Really a crawl over the ben franklin bridge to this point and through this point as well. Staying in new jersey, here we are at the route 42 freeway as you make your way up to the Atlantic City expressway. Slow going there but really not too bad at this point. As you make your way closer to Atlantic City and getting on the garden state parkway thats where youll see the bigger slowdowns as you make your way towards the shore. With the slowdowns on 95 and the slowdowns on the schuylkill you can expect that the vine street expressway looks like this right now, really slow going there as well. The action cam was on west Chestnut Street in west chester where the flames broke out around 12 30. They say the fire started on the third floor but they have not said why. Youre learning more details about the child sexual abuse case at a nome feasterville bucks county. Now police say 51yearold lee kaplan was living with 12 female children in his home on the 400 block of old street road ranging from six months to 18 years old. Police say kaplan is the father of the six month old child and a threeyearold at that house. The mother is the 18yearold girl. Now, police say the girls parents gifted their daughter to kaplan when she was 14 years old because kaplan helped get them out of financial difficulty. According to the Police Affidavit they were aware kaplan was having sex with their young daughter and they did nothing to stop it. Kaplan is facing statutory Sexual Assault aggravated indecent assault and other charges. Hes being held on a Million Dollars bail. The 18yearold girls parents are also in custody. Reporter hi, brian 33 want assault rifles banned and they also want to close a loophole in the federal law that allows people who are on the terror watch list to buy a gun. The shorthand theyre using is no fly no, buy. Standing in front of the victims of terrorism memorial in pennsauken gun control advocates are demanding Congress Take action to close loopholes in federal gun laws. The terror watch list, you cant get on the plane but you can go buy a gun. How is that making sense to anybody here. The message to congress is that we need to put people ahead of guns. Reporter the group is also calling for the ban of assault rifles like these seized from the streets of camden. These are military grade weapons. These things were designed for mass casualty and to be used on the battlefield. Reporter chief thompson is holding a weapon similar to the one used to massacre 49 people at the pulse nightclub in orlando. This weapon and other rifles like it can sloot off 30 rounds in a magazine and are available for purchase in many states. That makes no sense to south jersey lgbt activist brian mcginnis. Two Police Officers were injured after a crash in northeast philadelphia today at about 11 30 this morning. A Police Vehicle was involved in a crash nearly a len grove streegrove allengrove street. You can see a heavy Police Presence near the pickup truck. Details of the crash have not been released yet. We are told that the investigation is still under way. From our delaware news room now a milford man is under arrest for sexually abusing children for more than 10 years allegedly. Police charge edgar bravo with at least seven counts of rape and sexual abuse. Police say it started in 2005. One of the victims was just eight years old. Police in abington are investigating several home breakins that happened overnight. Investigators say there were five burglaries or attempted breakins within 2 miles. Earlier this morning two people in the 300 block of thorpe road in the jenkintown section reported somebody tried to break into their home. And a few hours later three people reported burglaries in the 1000 block of huntington road. In all the cases, the suspects were able to get in through unlocked windows. Health officials are calling for new measures to fight the heroin epidemic in pennsylvania. Addiction specialists and others gave testimony during this hearing in Philadelphia City hall today. They say the city has more than 650 Overdose Deaths just in the last year. That is twice the homicide rate. And they called for a Public Health emergency to be declared in pennsylvania. They also want changes to the way doctors prescribe painkillers along with a statewide Overdose Prevention task force and a Syringe Exchange program to prevent needle sharing. A wind whipped wildfire continued to burn out of control near the coast of Santa Barbara california. Its burned more than 4,000 acres. The fire started wednesday and has continued to grow. An estimated 1200 firefighters are battling that blaze right now. They have been able to get it about 5 percent contained. Fires are also burning in parts of new mexico and arizona. Hundreds of people in all three states have been evacuated as a precaution. Closing arguments will begin monday in the trial of a Baltimore Police officer charged in connection with the death of freddie gray. Caesar goodson jr. Was driving the van when gray suffered a fatal spinal injury last year. Goodson faces the most serious charge, Second Degree murder. Prosecutors say he failed to buckle gray into a seat belt. Angel colon with a big hug for officer omar delgado who only had this to say, im so glad you are alive. Angel had been shot in the hand and hip but played dead as the gunman kept firing. When i first saw him i was face down laying down on the floor. I could only move my arms and my head up so i just saw him, like somebody help me please. When he was dragging me up i could just tell him hurry, please hurry. Officer delgado is a nine year veteran of the police force and says while nothing could have prepared him for that tragedy, knowing that he saved lives including angels is a feeling he says you just cannot describe. Taking a look at the 42 freeway, nice and slow out there as youre making your way southbound towards the Atlantic City expressway. The Atlantic City expressway isnt looking too badly right now but as you approach the garden state parkway you can expect to see that volume start to pick up as youre making your way down to the shore points. Chopper 6hd was over a house on old street road in feasterville where 12 girls were found inside of a home belonging to a man charged with Sexual Assault. This is the man, 51yearold lee kaplan and hes accused of fathering two of the children found inside with a third girl who was also found in the home. That girl is now 18 but police say she was just 14 at the time when kaplan first had sex with her. The girls parents are also facing charges tonight. This is daniel and sybil la stolfutz. Police say they gifted the girl to kaplan. Right now were coordinating with authorities in Lancaster County to interview these children, put them in safe environment and as of right now all three suspects are in custody.
