George stephanopoulos begins now. And we begin with the latest from ferguson. Protests heating up again this weekend but no decision yet from the grand jury on whether to charge officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of Michael Brown. Well hear from president obama in a moment, first lets go to Abcs Steve Osunsami on the ground in missouri. Good morning, steve. Reporter were learning that the grand jury debating possible charges against Police Officer Darren Wilson will be getting back to work tomorrow so it will be just a little bit. More time before we see a decision in this case. Police have already put barricades up around the courthouse here worried that demonstrators might storm the building. Police have been promised a 48hour notice once that decision is reached, already there have been plenty of street fights outside Ferguson Police headquarters which is ground zero for the protests here. Last night there were even more arrests. Were told that the family of Michael Brown is very concerned about this. The ferguson action network, another protest group, is promising demonstrations in at least 61 cities. Michael browns family and other religious leaders are calling for calm. George. Okay, thanks steve. Now to our abc news exclusive with president obama waiting just like the rest of us to hear from that grand jury bracing for possible violence. Thats where we begin. Your fbi has warned about possible violence in the wake of that decision. What is your message to the people of ferguson and others who are looking to protest . Well i think first and foremost protest peacefully. This is a country that allows everybody to express their views, but using any event as an excuse for violence is contrary to rule of law and contrary to who we are. Part of what ive asked eric holder to do is not just engage with the folks in ferguson but to engage nationally in a conversation between Law Enforcement and communities of color that oftentimes feel as if they are not being treated fairly by Law Enforcement officials. Sometimes their concerns are justified. Sometimes theyre not justified. Law enforcement has a very tough job. Are you worried here . You know we saw during the summer the possibility of even overwhelmingly peaceful crowds being overrun by a few thugs. What ive done is called jay nixon, the governor of missouri to make sure that he has a plan to respond in a careful and appropriate way to any potential violence. To be able to sort out the vast majority of Peaceful Protesters from the handful who are not. You know, in the end what i have confidence in is that if we do a better job of training our Law Enforcement to be sensitive to the concerns of minority communities, then over time trust can be built in part because minority communities typically are subject to more crime. They need law enforcdaa more than anybody and there are a lot of communities in my hometown of chicago, for example, who actually want to see more police in but they want to make sure that the police are trained so they can distinguish between a gangbanger and a kid who just happens to be wearing a hoodie but otherwise is a good kid and not doing anything wrong. One of your heroes john lewis has said if theres no indictment it will be a miscarriage of just tiks and like selma. Do you agree . I love john. I didnt see the quote so i dont want to comment on what john specifically said but i will say this that the kinds of ongoing problems we have with police and communities of color around the country are not of the sort that we saw in selma. Were not talking about systemic segregation or discrimination. They are solvable problems if in fact Law Enforcement officials are open to the kind of training that and best practices that weve seen instituted in a lot of parts of country do you think it would make sense to go to ferguson after this decision. Im going to wait and see how the response comes about. But, you know, what does make sense is for not just me but my entire administration to work with willing partners at the state and local level to see how we can address some of these issues. What about the broader issues of race, i mean, i was struck by a pole i saw saying since 20099 number of africanamericans who think that racial relations are Getting Better has actually gone down. My own experience tells me that Race Relations continue to improve. If you think about, you know just in our lifetimes were about the same age, where weve traveled, theres no way to say somehow Race Relations are worse now than they were ten years ago, 20 years ago or 50 years ago. Part of what happens is is that they get a lot more attention today. You know occasionally problems that used to be pretty common 20, 30 years ago werent videotaped. Everybody knows now somebody has a camera and people see it and could be a good thing sometimes. Which is a good thing a good thing in the sense it lays bare and ive said it before as an africanamerican male there have been times where ive experience experienced it as a young plan been a while since it happened and, you know, i think that folks on the other side of it might not understand why there are concerns or mistrust so when people start seeing these instances then they start saying okay maybe we understand what theyre talking about but its important not to overreact or suggest somehow we havent made progress. One of the things that i think the presidency drives home is you know in a democracy progress is incremental and it goes in stutter steps and sometime sometimes theres some backsliding but overall trajectory i think is positive. And the president will be back on immigration later but more from Pierre Thomas in washington this morning and, pierre, in addition to the grand jury youve got these two parallel investigations done by the Justice Department on civil rights. Reporter yeah, george, the stakes are high and the drama intenses Justice Department officials wait for that grand jury decision. As you say they have two investigations under way. First theyre looking at whether the Ferguson Police department discriminates against minorities, justice officials have already indicated they believe theres evidence of bias especially in traffic stops and also investigating officer wilson. There they have a high threshold to reach before bringing any charges. They have to determine whether officer wilsons decision to shoot brown was unream under the circumstances. And they must find evidence officer wilson intentionally violated browns civil rights because of race. Its a vigorous investigation but theres no guarantee as to how it will turn out, george. Pierre, but if the grand jury doesnt find that they dont believe theres enough evidence to charge officer wilson with a crime, realistically can the Justice Department go forward with their targeting of officer wilson . Reporter in theory the state grand jury investigation should not impact the Justice Department, but, george, i can tell you theres a lot of pressure. The attorney general went to ferguson and if that grand jury decides not to indict in essence the Justice Department decision becomes the final word in terms of a criminal case. Here in washington, they know that this is one of the most important civil rights cases in recent memory. Race and policing a volatile mix. Pierre thomas, thanks very much. Lets talk now to Michael Browns family and Benjamin Crump and dan abrams. Youve been told youll get some kind of notification about any grand jury announcement. Nothing yet. Nothing yet. How much advance notice do you expect you would have . Well, we think about six hours is our hope but we will have to see the Prosecutors Office has told us they will inform the family before they inform the public for sure. Okay. And, dan abrams, lets walk through what the grand jury is doing right now. There will have to be nine votes on a 12person grand jury in order to indict officer wilson with a crime. Keep in mind totally different process than a regular jury. 9 out of 12. Youre not deciding innocence versus guilt just a question of probable cause, is there enough evidence to send it to trial. Inside that grand jury room much more casual than a trial. Theyre having a conversation in there. Grand jurors asking questions but, remember it is the grand jury that is in charge of this. Theyre the ones who now can decide do we want to continue do we need more evidence, et cetera, so theyre considering everything from the possibility of no indictment Involuntary Manslaughter all the way up to murder. This is different from your usual grand jury. Usually you have have a prosecutor saying i have a case sign off on it thats not whats happening. Usually you have one or two detectives show up and say this is the charge we want and you move forward. Here the prosecutor is giving the grand jury all of the evidence, he says allowing them to make all the decisions, having the target testify which is unusual, calling in it seems one of the defense experts to even testify in front of the grand jury which is unusual. It does seem that the prosecutor is to some degree trying to punt but with that said the prosecutor still has a lot of control over what evidence is presented in front that have grand jury. I saw you shaking your head. I just think this is process is unlike anything ive ever seen. We dont think its fair. Why not. When you think about it if this prosecutor is saying we just going to be fair, were not going to recommend any charges, thats different from anything hes done in his past 28 years with grand juries so now are we going to say, he was unfair to all those people and extra fair why cant it be equal justice why cant we have the same pro jest why you change the rules and come in recommend charges right now based on the probable cause. You said it a minute ago. Its just probable cause. Seven people said his hands was up. Let me ask you a question. If the prosecutor himself, whether hes wrong or not, lets assume he may be wrong or right but assume hes uncertain as to whether charges should be filed. Hen is he doing the right thing. Lets ask if facts will change. Would he be uncertain because as the correspondent said race and policing thats the difference. When the race isnt the matter the prosecutors change it. Its a symbiotic relationship with the prosecutor and the police and if we keep doing the same thing, george were going to get the same results and thats why the people are like they are in ferguson. I know both Michael Browns parents have called for calm. They dont want violent protests but after the grand jury sieves through this and determine there was a struggle and that officer wilson did have reason to feel threatened and in danger do you accept that finding . Well we have to accept the law, but think about it. They are trying to snow everybody, george. The struggle at the car, hes running away. You have people saying he shot while he was running away and but what if the evidence shows he was running toward him. You got witnesses out there that say differently. You got the police version. If you got that tipping scale, dan, if you got that tipping scale probable cause it should go to a jury where its transparent and have a trial by jury. Why do we accept that when the police kill our children were going to have had grand jury proceeding and different from anything else. Lets talk about the process of law. There are a lot of highprofile cases and seen them where prosecutors say, you know what im going to hand this one to the grand jury. I want the political cover on this one. I want to let them decide so im not the one who takes the heat on however the decision goes so its not out of left field in a highprofile case a prosecutor hands it off to a grand jury. You would agree its a problem with our system when you have the local prosecutor who has this symbiotic relationship with the local Police Department and the local Police Officers has no relationship with the young prejudge what the grand jury is going to say. Youve already decided the process is unfair. No, the process is completely unfair. 99 of the time Police Officers arent charged when they kill young people of color. So when you look at the face of those overwhelming statistics and you think that we are upset because is there let me ask the question what if there was a struggle. What if there was a struggle for the gun and the evidence shows that. You know what in america we have a constitution, you have a right to trial by jury. And i have no doubt if they were to indict the Police Officer, he would be guaranteed his full Constitutional Rights of innocent until proven guilty. He would get every benefit of the doubt. I dont worry about the due process for officer wilson. I worry about due process for the little black boy on the ground. Well have to leave it there all waiting for the grand jury. Thank you both very much. Coming up our exclusive interview with president obama and takes on questions about his prgs process and how will his relationship with hillary play out through 2016. His most revealing answers yet. Back in two minutes. Announcer this week with George Stephanopoulos brought to you by charles schwab. Something years now. Thinking about what you want to do with your money . Daughter looking at options. What do you guys pay in fees . Dad i dont know exactly. Daughter if youre not happy do they have to pay you back . Dad it doesnt really work that way. Daughter you sure . Vo are you asking enough questions about the way your wealth is managed . Wealth management at charles schwab. Theyre still after me. Get to the terminal across town. Are all the green lights you . No. Its called grid iq. The 4 51 is leaving at 4 51. They cut the power. Itll fix itself. Powers back on. Quick thinking traffic lights and self correcting power grids make the world predictable. Thrillingly predictable. In this weeks closer look more from president obama and his explosive order giving legal status to 5 million undocumented immigrants. I will never give up. He spoke moments president got a rousing welcome in las vegas and a stern rebuke from the speaker of the house. The president had said before hes not kidding and hes not an emperor but hes sure acting like one. Your response. My response is pass a bill. The truth is that the senate did a good job in crafting a bipartisan bill that would have greatly improved our immigration system and my preference is for a legislative solution to this problem. But that didnt happen. It didnt happen because the speaker would not call the bill for a vote in the house and he still has several weeks to call that bill in the house or he can work with me and democrats to craft a new bill. He says thats not going to happen now. And the point is that ultimately congress has a responsibility to deal with these issues. And there are some things that i cant do on my own. Youseveral times over the last couple of years you were asked can you do more and you said im out of administrative flexibility. Thats not true. If you look george i was often asked can you halt deportations . And i said no i cant do that. You were asked specifically what can you do to prevent families from being broken apart and you said im not an emperor. Im not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute laws that are passed. Weve kind of stretched our administrative flexibility as much as we can. George what is absolutely true is that we couldnt solve the entire problem and still cant solve the entire problem but what we can do is to prioritize felons criminals, recent arrivals folks who are coming right at the border and acknowledge that if somebody has been here for over five years, they may have an american child or a legal permanent resident child, it doesnt make sense for us to prioritize them when we know we need more resources. Can you make that decision on your own. Absolutely. If you look, every president , democrat and republican over decades has done the same thing. George h. W. Bush about 40 of the undocumented persons at the time were provided a similar kind of relief as a consequence of you know both reagan in that case there were bipartisan bills passed acting after the bills were passed not because congress did not act. George, im not sure that argues in favor. If congress acted specifically and left something out and then the president goes ahead right afterwards and does more than congress agreed to its actually not different. Its similar. The fact is is that we exercise prosecutorial discretion all the time. The primary responsive to Speaker Boehner and others is go ahead and pass legislation. In the meantime, what weve got to make sure of is number one, that our borders are secure and, number two, its going to allow us to focus on the people we really want out, number three, what it allows us to do is a to folks who have been here for awhile register were going to submit youre going to submit to a criminal background check and youre going to pay tacks if how do you respond, a future president comes in wants lower taxes, doesnt happen. Im not going to prosecute those who dont pay Capital Gains tax. The truth of the matter george, is that the reason that we have to do prosecutorial discretion in immigration is that we know that we are not even close to being able to deal with the folks who have been here a long time. The vast majority of folks understand they need to pay taxes and when we conduct an audit, for example, we are selecting those folks who are most likely to be cheating. Were not going after millions and millions of people who Everybody Knows are here and were taking advantage of low wages as theyre mowing lawns or cleaning out bedpans and looking the other way, but then you got politicians suddenly going out there saying suggesting somehow that, you know we should be deporting all of them. Everybody knows including republicans that were not going to deport 11 million people. You dont think it would be legitimate for a future president to make that argument . With respect to taxes. Yes. Absolutely not. But what is true what is true today is we dont audit every single person. But we still expect that people are going to go ahead and follow the law and we have limited resources, we have to make sure that we prioritize those folks who are most dangerous and we should acknowledge what everybody has already acknowledged through their actions and congress acknowledges through their budget which is were not in the business of deporting millions of people or breaking up families. The president seemed unfazed by dramatic warnings from top republicans. Mitch mcconnell should stand up and say, the new congress for the next two years will not confirm a single nomination. You could see instances of anarchy. You could see violence. Theres often a lot of rhetoric coming out of congress and in washington. But it doesnt match up to what i think the American People expect. What the American People expect is that if we disagree on one thing, then we disagree on that thing and then we work on Everything Else and one of the habits that weve seen in congress over the last four years since the House Republicans took over is that everything becomes hostage to one disagreement. So a couple of years ago it was obamacare. The Affordable Care act and they decided, were going to shut down the government because we disagree with this one law. They say theyre not going to do that this time. Well, if theyre not going to do that then we shouldnt have a problem. Is the president right . Our roundtable weighs in next plus james carville, the latest from team hillary, dr. Ben carson on his own president ial plans and more from president obama. Say, whats that piece of paper doing here. Oh, you mean me . I tell you who i am. Im just a bill. Yes, im only a bill. And im sitting here on capitol hill and if i pass the legislative test then i wind up on the president s desk and i president obama whats the big idea . That bill was trying to become a law. I realize that but you know son, there was actually an even easier way to get it done around here, its called an executive order. Im an executive order and i pretty much just happen saturday night live last night. Now lets bring in our powerhouse roundtable joined by dr. Ben carson and katrina vanden heuvel, our own Political Correspondent matthew dowd and james carville. Let me begin with you, a lot of people skeptical with the president and thought he should have given the new congress a chance to act but did he grab the initiative here. Well he definitely grabbed the initiative in a way to put his policies through. I think one, we need to do something about immigration, its absolutely crucial that we do something about the manner in which the way the president did it does nothing to help the political discourse or fix the fundamental problem that exists in washington which is the means of governing is broken. On both sides of the aisle and earlier i said where obstructionism means arrogance dysfunction is born. The white house would answer it may not fix dysfunction but helps 5 million undocumented immigrations. It does. What cant be forgotten here its human costs of inaction and, you know on the action front, john boehner passed the bill. You can its been 18 months right. 516 days 68 members of the senate supported it. The human costs our constitutional democracy doesnt work for somebody we go past it. Putting aside the president has law on his side. Every president since eisenhower has used executive orders or prosecutorial discrest to deal with immigration issues but, george, you ask the right question. This is a family values Immigration Reform because its keeping parents and Children Together and the human costs of inaction are grim. Its also the political calculus, this is a hard won victory for a move many. People, millions of people have protested, have pressed, have demanded change and movements have one of the questions is can it last. Dr. Carson what should the republicans do in response . Well, i think they first of all have to recognize that we do need Immigration Reform. And they need to be putting out their version of it so that people can see it. What weve managed to do is to take things that are relevant to all of us and make them into gigantic political issues that further divide us and we have a mechanism for doing these kinds of things and we need to emphasize what that is. It is not for one individual to seize control. If that was the case why not do that when he first came into office when he had full control. Whats the answer. The Senate Passed it. He says, look ill give you a political win. Take this off the table if you give me a policy win. They said, no, were not going to do that. They had 516 to 15 days to do it. It was an utter brilliant political move. Every democrat is smiling. Every republican said how could he do this . Because they because boehner couldnt bring it up. Although it was a majority of people in the house and he just walked up and cold cocked him and now its there and now they dont have the policy now the politics will dominate the 2016 republican nomination james and i get along and agree on most things. I disagree. The politics of this are very bad for the president and very bad for the Democratic Party. I think in the end the country looks at this and says washington is completely broken. Weve sent two president s there to fix the problem we have in washington and now we have both sides of the aisle that say on the far left or far right that say, listen this has to be fixed so well use any means necessary to fix the problem. In the end i think itll hurt the Democratic Party. I couldnt disagree with matthew more. They pass if they have 515 days and a majority of the house ready to vote for it and boehner wont bring it up. The president s at fault. No. Every democrat i know says, ha ha, and every republican says, how could he do this to us . You know i think thats the problem. Everything is made intodids and republicans. Why dont we deal with things proamerican. One of the things we have to recognize is we have millions of people in this country in our inner cities in our rural areas, in appalachia who are suffering just incredible why dont we deal with them. Why are you pitting those people against the undocumented immigrants . Theres often. Can i tell you why. I agree this shouldnt be a democratic or Republican Party though the gap is so clear and for the Latino Community they know whose side which party is on their side. But this is about lifting those up who are suffering from a recovery which isnt helping them and this should be about lifting wages for all. This should be about a humane moral politics which is what i meant when i said this was a hardwon victory for a movement. All of that is true. 97 of the democrats are in fact, 35 of the republicans do. They couldnt do it. They had 515 days. He said i will wait. I will hold off. You just pass the bill and boehner wouldnt bring it to the floor after the election. He wouldnt promise to bring it to the floor. And then he came up james, as you know i have spoken a long and pushed long and hard about the Republican Party dealing with the latino issue and immigration. If i were the republicans and i were in the shouse and senate when it took over in january i would pass an immigration bill and send it to the president s desk. Their version, their version of an immigration bill and send it to the president s desk and watch him veto it. The president is not interested in figuring out a way to do it together. Hes only interested in doing the specific things he wafrtss to do. They had 516 days the majority [ all speaking at once ] matthew worked with george w. , the politics of the Republican Party today are not george w. s. I mean you have thats absolutely true. Absolutely true. You have a Republican Party driven in large measure by a no nothing nativism antiimmigrant stance. Real quickly, dr. Carson would you vote for the senate bill . As it exists now . Yeah. I would have to read it thoroughly before i answer that. The president will weigh in on 2016 next. How you do with our puzzler. Here it is. Name the only president who did not issue an executive order and for bonus points which president had the most . Be right back with the answer. Iast. Mmm, a perfect 177degrees. Take control of your retirement today we get to the race launching his long shot bid for nomination and while Hillary Clinton has not announced it her supporters gathered for another run. I asked the president to weigh in. How is this going to work over the next couple of years, your relationship with the secretary as it certainly appears she is planning on running for president. Will you coordinate, does she have your blessing to separate when she needs to . She hasnt announced. I dont want to jump the gun. I can tell you a couple thing, number one she was an outstanding secretary of state. Number two shes a friend. Still talk pretty regularly. We do. Number three, i think she and a number of other possible Democratic Candidates would be terrific president s. A number of other. And i am very interested in making sure that ive got a democratic successor so im going to do everything i can obviously to make sure that whoever the nominee is is successful. If she decides to run she will be a formidable candidate and a great president and shes not going to agree with me on everything. And, you know, one of the benefits of running for president is you can stake out your own positions. And have a clean slate, a fresh start. When youve been president for six year you know youve got some dings you dont mind a few more if thats what it takes. I think the American People are going to want that new car smell. You know they want to drive something off the lot that doesnt have as much mileage as me. I wonder how thats going to make you feel as this campaign is going on. You think youll be itching to get back out there or flat to let someone else i tell you, when i think about the next two years, i just want to every single day be making this government work a little bit better for ordinary folks. If im able to do that over the next two years, then not only will i be serving the American People well i think i will be serving a potential successor well. Theyre probably not going to be looking at me to campaign too much. One of the things about our society which is great is that we dont have real long memories and, yeah, we get impatient for the next thing and worked for you before. Its worked for me before and, you know i think at the end of two years, if they want me to do some selective things ill be happy to do them but i suspect that folks will be ready to see me go off to the neck thing. And were back now with the roundtable. Joe, james carville, we saw the president , taking a few dings. How does hillary get that fresh, new car smell. Very good question disclosure, im a big supporter of hers. I spoke at events this weekend, so lets go in. It is difficult and let me just theres too much talk about inevitability and Everything Else. I think shell be a nominee. I want to make a point here. And she has a plan and mike tyson once said everybody got a plan to get hit in the mouth and you run for president and anybody that hurricanes and i guarantee you its not when its how many times. You cannot run for president without things going wrong. And i think she understands that and she knows that going in. But this kind of inevitability that its going to be easy and all that thats foolishness. Shes got this tricky act, matthew dowd, of trying to figure out a way to stay close to the president but also establish some distance at exactly the same time. Well, the biggest problem she faces was the interview you just conducted which is the president , the incumbent president of the United States and barack obama, if his job approval number is sitting in the low 40s at the end of 2016 its very difficult for any democrat especially Hillary Clinton to win a race. Nobody as ever done that. Nobody has won three terms in a row where the incumbent Party President s job approval is under 50 . The other huge problem she has besides the president of the United States is that the country wants somebody antiwashington and antiwall street. They want somebody coming it from both. They dont think washington is working and wall street is totally out of control where Elizabeth Warren is. Hillary clinton problematically represents both of those. How could she be antiwall street . Let me just step back for a moment because i think the country, Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party would be well served about i a vigorous primary debating the big issues and if you have people in there like james webb or Bernie Sanders who is thinking hard about running, maybe Elizabeth Warren though she said she wont you could drive Hillary Clinton to saying you cant be captive of wall street. Shes not but she is tethered to wall street and it is part of the problem where she is part of a politics of the past which may be tough for her to mark a new course but the most important thing, george, this country deserves a primary. The inevitability factor should not be part of our democracy and no matter whether they deserve it or not theyre going to get one. Jim webb dr. Carson as james said youre looking at the possibility of running for president , close to a decision . Every day i would get closer because im going to make a decision by may the 1st. By may. You have a little bit of time. Make the 30second case against hillary. Well, i dont want to make it specifically about hillary. I want to make it about those who want the United States to be a country where the government conforms to the will of the people versus those who want the people could conform to the will of the government and thats the big divide that we have right now. Thats what the people are talking about. Thats what they talked about a couple of weeks ago in the election. They are saying isnt this our country . Isnt it for, of and by the people . This is what we need to be talking about. I dont care if its a democrat or republican. Thats who needs to be up front. I hope dr. Carson runs because i think wed be behooved by anybody part of the process. Good people have stepped back that are smart and havent tried to serve and i think it would be benefit whether or not i agree with you on the issues. The prosecutoring thing about the Republican Party they would be benefited about i an outsider coming in like dr. Carson or a governor outside of washington, d. C. The thing about the Republican Party, everybody says theyre going to nominate the most conservative party. They havent since goldwater in 1964. They nominate the person most electable and satisfies conservatives. I think i hope dr. Carson runs i think i agree with matt. Antiestablishment candidate. Youre way overreads the results of that electric. The issues that won and that map was very conservative it was an older, more affluent whiter crowd wasnt the emerging majority. Young people minorities single women and i think you see a country that is waiting for something different. They want a government that works for them. They dont want a rigged system that works for the corporations or the very wealthy and they want to be part of a recovery that they hear a lot about but they dont feel theyre part of. Im in four or five states a week. Ive been for the last year and a half and i predicted a long time ago what the results for the election would be because im hearing what the people are saying. We have facebook sentimeter. Dr. Carson doing well in iowa up there with rubio and christie. Iowa not necessarily everything to support that an offyear election means something in the next president ial cycle but evidence. All evidence is from 94 to 96, from 2010 to 2012. All evidence is that it doesnt matter. Its a different kind of an event. Now, i think that when secretary clinton runs shes going to run on her own agenda and think theres going to be a lot i think shes going to take this thing very seriously. Is going to run very hard and i think where does she break for president obama . Where does she break from president obama. Shell say hes done remarkable things as president but the one thing we havent do the great unfinished work for this nation, how do we build a middle class and that was the one thing i want to do. Thats the great issue that the United States is faced with is we have lost our essence because were becoming twooo separated by income and Everything Else. That can be her message. The problem with Hillary Clinton she cant do something symbolically or hang a green Christmas Tree in the car and get a new car smell. She has to get a new car and the car shes driving in is old. Everybody is talking about rebuilding the middle class but do you have the courage to walk the walk . There are policies that Hillary Clintons not going to touch. Whether its trade policy whether its taking on the big banks, whether its real prosperity and how does she break with president obama. Where she breaks, we havent talked much jim webb could drive into the primary. Foreign policy. She attacked the president for saying stupid stuff aint a doctrine. Well, you know not doing stupid stuff in International Relations is a doctrine in my review because this country is way overstretched and i think the beltway elite is totally out of sync with the American People in terms of americas role in the world. Americans dont want america to be the global policeman. They want to be secure. I think Hillary Clinton is beltway and i believe this and really respect you, i like your magazine theres not much appetite in the Democratic Party around the country for somebody other than Hillary Clinton. This is something that they its true and its going to help again, i go i agree with you. You go watch it. The republicans will need all the help they want to win a president ial race. Everything helps republicans. Hillary is going to help republicans. The sun coming up helps republicans. Thats going to have to be the last word today. When we come back thank you all very much. President obama weighs in on the Nuclear Negotiations with iran ahead of tomorrows deadline. Plus live reaction from israeli Prime Minister benjamin netanyahu. Catch this week online all at abcnews. Com. On facebook and twitter. The clock is ticking on Nuclear Talks with iran. Deadline tomorrow and secretary of state john kerry in vienna right now locked in negotiations to restrict Irans Nuclear program in return for lifting economic sanctions. The gaps are wide and president obama has not been optimistic. Its too early to tell. The good news is is that the interim deal that we entered into has definitely stopped Irans Nuclear program from advancing. So its been successful. But it deals with a rollback wouldnt it . So now the question is can we get to a more permanent deal and the gaps are still significant. Are you willing to extend if theres no deal by monday . I think what were going to do is take a look at what emerges over the course of the weekend. Both you and president rouhani have constraints. He has the ayatollah. You have congress. Are you confident if you reach a Deal Congress will back it . Im confident that if we reach a deal that is verifiable and assures that iran does not have breakout capacity that not only can i persuade congress but i can persuade the American People that its the right thin to do. Then iran joins the fight against isis . Well, you know iran is already fighting isis through its various surrogates. Were not going to be i think any time soon, you know, coordinateing military activities with iran because keep in mind even if we solve the Nuclear Problem we still have the problem of iran sponsoring terrorist activities in the region, we still have problems in terms of their attitude towards friends like israel. What a deal would do is take a big piece of business off the table and perhaps begin a long process in which the relationship, not just between iran and us, but the relationship between iran and the world and the region begins to change. You know irans not like north korea, a country thats just completely isolated and completely dysfunctional. So they have the opportunity, i think, to really thrive i suspect president rouhani would like to seize that opportunity, but in the end, hes going to have to deal with his politics at home and hes not the ultimate decider inside of iran the Supreme Leader is. That is the president. We are joined by the israeli Prime Minister benjamin netanyahu. Mr. Prime minister, thank you for joining us this morning. I know youve been in contact with secretary kerry through the weekend. Do you think there will be a deal . I dont know but i think its important there wont be a bad deal. A bad deal would enable iran to remain with thousands of centrifuges which it could use to enrich uranium which is what you need for a nuclear bomb. It could do so in a very short time. I think the key principle is this, dont dismantle sanctions before you dismantle irans capacity to make a nuclear bomb and as i understand it the iranians are nowhere near to accepting that and if for any reason the United States and the other powers agree to leave iran with that capacity to break out, i think that would be a historic mistake not only because it endangers my country, israel that irans ruler, the Ayatollah Khomeini wants to annihilate but endangers the entire middle east and the world . What others do they have if that is reached. First of all were doing everything we can to influence people not to make a bad deal and, of course such a deal is something that would leave iran with a capacity to threaten everyone. You know theyre developing icbms, inter conteinentalcontinental ballistic missiles. Why in heavens name do they need inter intercontinental police tick missiles . They need it to reach europe and the United States. Do you agree with president obama this interim deal has been a success and, therefore, if you cant get a big deal over this weekend, would you go along with extending the current terms . Look, i think the iranians have used the interim deal to develop other elements of their program. Its true they havent raised the enrichment to the 20 level and beyond. But they have done other things and theyre doing things that we dont know about. In fact the iaea the International Atomic Energy Agency says that iran refews to divulge the elms of its secret military nuclear program. So i think iran has been using using the hiatus to improve its economy, its economy has improved inflation has gone down substantially. There have been cash infusions of billions of dollars into the iranian economy, but they still are suffering under sanctions. I would, in fact rather than making a bad deal i would just continue the sanctions regime even toughen the sanctions regime and get iran to make the concessions it needs to make to make sure that they dont have the capacity to make nuclear weapons. Mr. Prime minister, we all saw that horrific murder in the jerusalem synagogue this week. Is israel facing a new kind of intefadeh . I hope not but you cant rule it out. What were seeing is that the radical islamist fires sweeping everywhere in the middle east are also coming to israel and, in fact this incitement is what is causing a lot of these murderous attacks on jews where people are mowed down by cars or stabbed or hatcheted to death in a synagogue. In fact, theres been incitement that says that israel absolutely falsely coming from islamist fors and hamas, from isis and from regrettably from the blinn authority saying that israel is about to change the prayer arrangements on the temple mount. Thats absolutely false. Its hogwash. But, you know, these people are incited by this. They then proceed to carry out their savage murders and we have two weapons to fight us one is we do whatever we can to defend ourselves and to strike at the killers, its hard because many of them are suicide killers. And the second thing is to stop the incitement to fight the incitement including the incitement that comes from the palestinian authority. That has to stop. But does bull dozing houses work . Well, its one of the things that were seeking. Were trying to find a way to stop to deter future suicides. As suicides by their nature they dont particularly care if they die but they care if in some cases and often in many cases if their homes are demolished afterwards or sealed. That weve seen in some cases, were looking at other means, as well, just imagine what the American Public would say if you had day in and day out these terrorist murders coming in blowing up people knifing people driving running down people with car, youd want to look for the ways that are effective to deter such future tacks, both to protect people suddenly im not enjoying lambeau field. The Philadelphia Eagles took their lumps at lambeau. The packers are on. Three eagles bring down one eddy lacey. Matthews was a run away train. Now we find out who we are what kind of team we are. Chip kellys crew will try to bounce back against a home test against the tennessee titans. They are tough hard nose physical guys and they play extremely hard. Time for the birds to get back on track well tell you how they are going to do it on game day kickoff
