Well, at the same time, this is going on, and weve got all of these people in long lines being critical of all of the times police use their guns, but at the same time, this is happening, a which wisconsin state trooper blown away by a bank robber killed. Then out in california, san jose, somebody calls in, and maybe a set up that killed police, calls in a Man Threatening to commit suicide. When the officers show up, somebody opens fire. All of the officers killing one of them, they never found anybody who wanted to commit suicide. They havent found the gunman yet. So there is your backdrop right there chris, and luckily, no cop was killed again here in philly because let me show you some video right now look at the size of the gun, one guy had on him annette another gun in his secondhand. And somebody had used maybe another gun or this guy had just used this gun, because look at the shot up minivan police find it is still daylight out. Somebody brazenly shooting up this van. Fifteen shots at least through the windshield and the door. They see a guy slumped on the ground on the driver seat. Then as they arrive they see second guy get out of the back of the minivan. Was passenger who survived that shooting, or was he the guy that just shot this guy and shot up the van and was inside looking to take something out of it. They didnt know at the time, he gets out. Now, if he was a passenger was looking for cops to help, you would think hey be like hey thanks for showing up. But if he had maybe shot it, maybe he would be having a reason to run which is exactly what he did. The officer told the male to stop drop the weapon, show his hands stop running. The male refused. He turned. He pointed the weapon in the direction of both officers. Thats why one officer discharged his weapon striking the suspect in the groin area, his left torso and his left shoulder. He collapsed in the 1700 block of lava street. When he fell he not only dropped the weapon with the extended magazine, he dropped a second semiautomatic weapon. Both of these weapons are semiautomatic weapons with loaded magazines. So the caliber size of one of those two guns matched the shells on the ground. But there is a lot of guns out there, same caliber size, so they have to find out through forensic tests whether that was the gun used to shoot up the minivan. So again fortunately we dont have another officer killed here. And again internal affairs as is standard will investigate this police shooting, that comes just 28 hours after that federal justice report was released on Police Shootings that commissioner ramsey initiated by requesting in the first place.
