iain page. >> i'm lucy noland. police are still trying to figure out who is behind these attempted kidnappings in newhere tonight as officers tried to calm the fears of the people they serve. >> reporter: community crime prevention meetings are typically not the most popular things to do on a thursday whatg here in new castle county is anything but typical. two kidnappings and most recently an attempted sexual assault has residents here scared. lock your doors, keep your lights on, look out for your neighbors. common sense stuff but after two recent kidnappings, new castle county police are warning residents about a suspect on the loose. >> fear. definitely fear. i have an 18-year-old daughter so fear for her. you know, walking to my house from my driveway. >> reporter: nearly 150 people filled the limestone presbyterian church as police dolled out real live crime prevention tips. >> everybody here has probably a daughter, a sister, mother, this could happen to. the bottom line is, you want us to do whatever it takes to find this guy and that's what we're doing. >> i am just worried about her in the dark. >> leslie bucklew and her 17-year-old daughter live a few blocks away from the arundel apartments where a woman was forced into her apartment, sexually assaulted and robbed. it's about a mile from where police believe a man forced another woman into a car and made her drive to an atm for money. police think the attacks were random targets. >> she's a teen out a lot driving. just want to do, you know, give her the information she needed. >> reporter: new castle police say they've stepped up patrols and any reports of suspicious activity will be elevated to a priority call. in the meantime, residents are trying to learn anything, everything to keep them safe. >> i also really feel for the people are so scared. i didn't realize there was so much fear but it's understandable. >> reporter: new castle county police believe the same man is responsible for both kidnappings. they say they want to get him off the street before he strikes again. in new castle county, chris o'connell fox 29 news. chris just mentioned those unsolved kidnappings in new castle and a sexual assault in wilmington. well this is where that sex assault happened right near swinging bridge. a man tackled a jogger last night and she told police she was able to fight him off, but he took off with some of her personal items. police have not found him as of yet. skyfox was over a huge fire tonight you may have seen this from your house. you can see the inferno burning up the roof of a building in gloucester county just incredible flames. it took freighted hours to get this under control. you can see the flames epp sin rating whatever material was on that roof. the fire was so intense on the right hand side look at the plume of smoke that just shoots into the air. you could see this for miles. that is the view from our weather camera in wilmington. that's how far away you could see this thing. the good news is, it doesn't look like anyone was hurt fighting this fire. dispatchers are telling us this was building under construction. it start aid round 6:00 p.m. and last we check it was still burning. new video tonight of three men wanted for shooting that targeted philadelphia cops. now we told you earlier this week someone was firing off shots at officers in olney. police say monday night cops were patrolling around fourth and west champlois street. when they got out of the car, one of the men opened fire at them, but missed them. happening now with politics polarizing country the conservative political action conference is converging on maryland. tonight vice-president mike pence addressed the crowd. the vice-president compared his boss to president trump's inspiration president reagan. pence accused of democrats of dismissing the conservatives and he says that cost them the election. president trump is scheduled to speak at cpac tomorrow night. also making a rare public appearance at cpac today, controversial white house adviser steve bannon. here's how he prescribed the president' agenda for the first few weeks of the trump administration. man touched himself as three women walked toward him. he was hiding in the bushes in the area of kings grant drive and wood lake drive. cops brought in a dog to track him down. they cannot find him. in new jersey, gloucester township police say this is a sketch of a man who tried to pull a woman into his suv on monday night. it happened around 9:00 o'clock on may apple road. the victim told police that he asked her for directions before trying to force her toward his car then when she started to scream, some family members came out, he took off. so what's going on in a mainline school? >> yeah. that is what parents are wondering tonight after police arrest add second staff member within days. prosecutors say 35-year-old maya johnson showed lewd videos and photos of herself to students at the village school in radnor. the school helps troubled girls. the school officials fired the former teacher's aid. a few weeks ago. prosecutors charged another teacher with having sex with a student. police have also responded to a handful of sights at the -- fights at the school. >> it's a little bit unsettling, you know, them being our neighbors, um, that they don't really have >> absolutely. >> thank you iain. space x made good on 250-mile high delivery to the international space station. astronauts captured the dragon cargo ship today after gps problem aborted the original attempt. engineers fixed the navigation problem and everything walk smooth the second go around. the capsule was loaded width 5500 pounds of supplies including scientific projects from around the world. astronauts are getting another delivery on friday. this time from russia. bill anderson has been with local mom talking with a local mom who lost her son while he was fighting in iraq. she is still struggling with the loss of her son but she's on a mission as well. >> after seeing the struggles veterans have to live with every day, she decided she had to do something to bring some light to their lives for goodness sake. >> he wanted to make a difference and he did. >> reporter: lindenwold new jersey anthony dixon was just 18 years old when he signed up for the army. it was 2000 and two anthony wanted to help in response to the september 11 ang tax and he wanted to see the world at first that's what happened. >> anthony went to kentucky. from kentucky he went to germa germany. and from there he wept to iraq. >> reporter: thing got bad quickly for anthony in iraq. first a childhood friend who he enlisted with was killed in combat and just six months later, the same tragedy struck the dixon family. >> anthony had just gotten back from a mission with his unit. wanting to go out do other things and help out other peop people. he asked his first sergeant if he can go out with another unit. >> reluctantly his sergeant agreed. >> i guess he got in the humvee. he had already passed one of those devices and didn't hit it. but when he backed up again they said somebody was off in the distance and detonated the ied. and he got killed instantly. >> reporter: anger, disbelief, sadness, all cycled through mrs. she got to the point of want to go help people. she and her husband were preparing to offer support they just didn't know it would be without their son. >> my husband had already -- and i had already discussed the fact if anthony came back he was going to have serious issues to deal with because he had seen killing. he had killed, upping, he had gone out after car bombing and held iraqi man in his arms end died in his arms. >> reporter: knowing the challenges their son and other veterans faced after attempt to run a general community center in their son's honor in early december, they turned their attention to veterans. >> when i started hearing about the high rate of suicide of veterans, i said i have to do something to help them. >> reporter: walked around the local memorial park and saw the recognition that veterans received once they lose their lives, but mrs. dixon wants them to receive it while they can still appreciate it. >> save space. i want eventually be able to do exercise classes with them, line dancing, you know, support groups, whatever they need. i want to know what they need. >> reporter: the building in lindenwold is currently open on wednesdays with meals, playing cards, haircuts you name it but she needs the support of the community to continue to serve those that have served us. >> any kind of donation that you can give to support the mission that i have, then that's what i want to do. >> army specialist anthony dixon gave his live fighting for our country. now his family just hopes that some like minded individuals will offer some volunteer time or some support so they can continue to give for goodness sake. i'm bill anderson. >> ♪ >> it is hard to imagine what so many of our veterans have gone through. >> yeah. >> and to bring that load back with them. >> exactly. thankfully she's helping some of these others because she's gone through it and lost her son. go for her. >> all right. somber day in the history of the philadelphia fire department. it was on this date in 1991 that a 12 alarm fire at a time meridian plaza in center city took the life of fire captain david holcomb many along with philip mccallister and james chappelle. fire commissioner thiel spoke of their bravery during a ceremony at a memorial in their honor at ritz carlton this afternoon. >> two girls dead. toe they have the evidence to catch the killer. >> you take selfies, right?
