Health official also say that getting a diagnosis, of parkinsons may worsen depression, so lets bring in doctor mike now and explain exactly what a parkinsons diagnosis means now, mike. When it comes to a perfect storm that is what we had here. Robin williams had significant depression. We know that. That predated a lot of other things. Now we fine that he was in early stages of parkinsons disease. Lets take a look, parkinsons disease is where is there damage in parts of the brain that substantial niagara where it effects these cells and dopamine is then not able to be produced in enough captain leading to problems with movement, and you can see here, a trembling of the hands, and that is a characteristic sign. Now, the the thing that most people dont realize is that 60 percent of people with parkinsons disease actually suffer from depression. Because a lot of those chemicals in the brain not only dopamine but certificate cone inn are infect here. What you have is a case of a perfect storm. You had a gentlemen who had depression, severe depression to begin with, and then has parkinsons. In mize humble opinion, i dont think he got the diagnosis and said oh, i cant handle it anymore. I think he had a tremendous amount of problems with depression and brain biochemistry that is how i put it together. It is so sad. His wife feeling that i think she wanted to make this statement because nobody knew you about the the parkinsons diagnosis. He didnt want anybody to know. Well, lots of people can be very, very cruel, out in the world and say welshing he was just depressed and then he got this diagnosis, or maybe he had fallen off the wagon and was drinking again, whatever. Bottom line is this is a poor guy who just had a lot of problems. I, in my own practice, have had patients with parkinsons disease who went undiagnosed with depression. It is a big problem. Michael j. Fox is fighting it, mohammed ali, he is fighting it. Lets switch gears. Yesterdays wall street journal they said that too little salt in your diet can be a problem. Fascinating. That is what i love about medicine. It is never stagnant. It is always in flux. We have been told for years how to avoid salt, avoid salt, it is bad for you. Welshing there are new studies showing that maybe we dont have to be so aggressive with that. In fact, the studies show that 6,000 milligrams or less per day for the vast majority of people is okay. I brought my friend bob with me because i want to show bob here and i took some of his insides out. You have kidneys here. It is a big inter play between the kidneys and the blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Now, for everyone out there listening, most of the recommendations are you dont want to have more than 2,300 milligrams per day of salt . This new data suggests that maybe we could than a little bit more lenient. Im not saying it is a license to kill but what im saying is that as long as you dont have high blood pressure, or you dont have congestive Heart Failure or a stroke, things like that, you are probably okay. Most americans eat that enough salt between 3,000 to 6,000milligram range we should be okay. So much of our salt in take is already in the food. It is in cheeses, it is in lunchmeats meets and everything else. Catch up, it is in everything. If you look at the history of salt in take in this country it has gone way up, the same with sugar. Some people think that we have just become accustomed. We have change our biochemistry, if you will, to want to crave salt. So salties important. This study did show that if you restricted it too much there was a correlation with increased risk of heart problems. My advice as my grandfather always said everything in moderation. Well, that makes sense. At American Heart Association is still sticking by its guidelines despite its study, doctor mike. Well look, lot of people shoot their mouth off and say things. Look, i think that for people with heart disease, people with a stroke history and things look that, you do to have watch your salt in take. I think the the take home message from this information is that for the vast majority of americans, 6,000 milligrams or less, anywhere between 3,000, 6,000 is probably okay, unless you have reasons to avoid salt. Im glad you gave us a specific number. You have the the American Heart Association and f. D. A. And others coming up with all different guidelines, for how many milligrams of salt you should take in per day. It is really hard to keep track of as a consumer. But that is why you should be a savvy consumer of health care and have a relationship with a health care provider, nurse practitioner, credit, whoever you see, you have a relationship with them so they can taylor your purpose i. The mistake they make is, wanting you to be there for the baby and attendant but there are times it is okay, and psychologically healthy for a baby to fine comfort in their own cry. The governor wanted to avoid layoffs and start the year on time but district said that was not a guarantee. Last night in the town hall meeting, parents, students, staff demanded city Council Support a petition to wrestle control of the district back from the state which took it over ten years ago. Jeff bridges character hold all of the memories in the past and will give them to this young boy named jonas. And, i know the book was written in nine 36789 you cannot fault it for not being original. But as years passed we have seen similar films coming out. It reminds me of diverge event meets pleasantville where it was all in black and white and turns color at times. You cannot help but not think about those elements. It takes you out of the movie. The story again was written in nine 36789 you cannot fault it. It is still on your mine. Overall film, i thought jeff bridges was great. Merrill streep was great. I felt very blank. I wanted to be blown away by it. This whole idea of becoming emotional should have had a more impact at the the end of the movie. It didnt blow me away. I gave it two and a half out of 56789 if you loved the book, but just wait for the rental. How about expendables three what do you think of this one. I group up in the 80s and 90s movie.
