Penn state university, in the news again, is revealing for the first time, just how far back, its legal settlements with Jerry Sandusky accusers go. 1971. It was revealed yesterday that the settlements, date all the way back, to the early 70s, 40 years or more before sandusky was arrested in the child maine lesstation scandal. That information came on the same day that the universitys president says he is, mad. In fact, read a statement from him in a second. Problem is now they say in 1976, that joe paterno knew about what sandusky was doing because supposedly, it came out in deposition testimony there was a child back at that point in time 1976 actually told paterno himself that sandusky had abused him. The claim is now, they are making claims that joe paterno didnt, send out that to anybody else, up the line. Will they reopen this whole thing. I dont think it will but it could. It depend on who, what, when and where. These are just allegations right now. There is in record of this at all, there is no record of this at all. The it came out in the deposition about this child making claims to paterno in 976. Just in terms of the chronology, paterno knew in 2001. So that is what he admitted to. Clear something up for me then . What is penn state making, who are they making payments too, settlement payments if it hasnt been going on. They have made payments to the people, that claimed sandusky abused them between 1992 and 99. There was 92. 8 milliondollar. But doesnt that mean you believe it happened. Well, yeah, with those cases it happened. Were talking about something this happened way before. It has never gone, earlier then like the 1980s. So what is this 1971 we made payment then. Supposedly back then, it gets confusing, the Insurance Company supposedly made payments that go all the way back to 1971a lieutenant of this stuff is confidential by the way. It is. A lot of these, settlements are confidential, so in a lot of the details, arent really. Why would they be making payments if they wouldnt think it is true. That is part of is what coming out here. Another thing baron said we cannot find any evidence related to a settlement that alleged early assault was communicate todd coach paterno. He says there is no evidence at all. Well, other than this stuff that came recently come out in the deposition about this child had talked about, this child told paterno. It is in a legal deposition. What did they say. It was kind of strange. I was out there working my life and i noticed some red marks around my belly button and i went to my family doctors. He said, he knows i work out. Probably lifting too heavy you have a hernia. Minor surgery in and out as a outpatient which i had two days later. But next day doctors called me on the phone and said, you know, tissue, was necrotic you have cancer. What kind. It took them another four weeks to figure the type of cancer and it is a very, very rare form of mesothelioma which only 100 people from what im told in the united states, in a year. So there are basically there is really no treatment yet for it. I had chemo, they put together about four years ago to try to stop it. What is prognosis. About six weeks. Four to six weeks. Left in your life. Yeah. How to you wrap your head around that and what do you tell your wife and your daughters. Yeah, i mean good and your grand child. Fourteen. It is a train wreck. I have been a healthy guy my whole life. Been in Law Enforcement. Dont smoke, dont drink. Weight lifter. You know, very active. You ask the why me thing. That goes through your head. It is just hard to wrap your head around but im settled with it. I feel like i have been blessed. I have had a good life. I have had a good life. I have a good family. I have been able to work with the s p. C. And do the work that i love, you know. For 40 years. One of my main goals, work is carried out and on after im gone. That is one of my wishes. You know, we have a lot of hard working people that can take it forward but the public need to know that we rise and fall with donations.
