Now its a yellow alert day which means what . Well, we have the yellow alert because that moisture is moving on in. It could affect the commute this morning for folks who are heading out a little bit later. Right now, though, were looking pretty good. Our radar is only showing a few of those showers well off to the west but the moisture is coming in from the southwest and it will continue to stream in all day long. Our current temperatures not so bad. Were on the cool side but you will need maybe those gloves and perhaps not even that hat today because things will be a little bit milder after sunrise. Into the 30s and 40s to start you out this hour. But satellite and radar shows just how much moisture is on the way. Most of the storms will stay west of the divide. However, the moisture coming up from the south is going to continue to cross along i95 and move up to the northeast into new england. It will be pretty steady stream into the afternoon. 9 00 hour, were still in the 40s so, yes, chilly. You need the jacket or coat heading on out and perhaps the gloves but by noontime well start to inch up our temperatures. Well hit the middle range 40s and maybe hit 55 degrees or so for our high later on this afternoon and plummet back down into the 40s for overnight lows tonight. The futurecast forecast model will show you most of the moisture does miss our area, however, some areas particularly north of the beltway could see some fairly steady streams of showers moving on through. By the 6 00 hour, most of us are dry on the evening commute but we cant rule out some of that moisture streaming on through. Overnight tonight, were doing pretty well. Everyone is taking it to the 11th Street Bridge because the westbound freeway has been shut down at the sousa bridge for a couple of weeks now that will be 18 to 20 months with reconstruction there. Reporter the wssc thought it could make some necessary repairs to underground pipes without digging a trench in the street but then the wssc decided . We needed to dig. Reporter important work. We literally want to keep sewage from flowing into their basements. Reporter new roads in Montgomery County are supposed to be left alone. You dont cut, you dont do anything to those roads for five years. Reporter the prospect of cutting brisbane . Caused a lot of very unhappy people to call my office. Reporter so the county talked to the wssc. Were very sympathetic to that, so were going to go back now and take another look and see if we can change and see if theres a way we can go some way. Reporter now the digging is on hold. You confident the street wont be dug up . I cant say that. Reporter the acting director for the county, the wssc is operating under a federal order to make the repairs and believe that the pipes under brisbane could be repaired without digging up the street. After the paving was double, a contractor informed the wssc that the pipes were different and that digging would be required.
