Inflation jumped in December 2020, despite coronavirus restrictions forcing non-essential shops to shut. The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) increased to 0.6 percent from 0.3 percent in November, a rise slightly higher than many economists' forecasts of 0.5 percent.
