Governor Ralph Northam awarded Virginia Bio Connect a $1.6 million grant to create jobs in the bioscience industry.
The funding will be used to set up “BioHubs” around the state. The hubs will be located across the commonwealth, including Roanoke in southwest Virginia, central Virginia counties like Chesterfield and Henrico, Virginia Beach on the southeastern coast, northern Virginia counties including Fairfax and Loudon and upper-central Virginia counties including Albemarle and Culpeper.
“These projects leverage the assets of each region and forge innovative partnerships that will help tackle some of our most pressing challenges,” Northam said.
