In the week. Weve got more on that story in a moment. Plus, 1970s superstar david casady fighting for his life. The former teen idol in the hospital suffering from multiple organ failure. We will update his condition. A sunday sitdown with wonder woman herself. The israeli actress whose movie became a run away global phenomenon this year still adjusting to life as a superstar and to be labeled a feminist icon. I think its weird if people wake up in the morning and theyre like, i am an icon. I am thats not the case. Its like i do laundry and i cook dinner for my girls. A fun conversation with her plus harry smith. Lets begin with the new war of words between President Trump and Hillary Clinton. Last years president ial campaign opponents shrinking insults at each other on saturday in a week where the allegations of Sexual Harassment against the president have come back to the forefront. Lets get more now from nbcs White House Correspondent kelly odonnell. Good morning. Reporter good morning, wi will willie. The president and former secretary of state sure know how to push each others buttons and they keep finding current ways to do that. This seems to please both of their very different bases. 376 days after their election battle ended, neither donald trump nor Hillary Clinton is giving up the fight. Apparently, you know, my former opponent is obsessed with my speaking out. Reporter the president revived his beef on twitter sat. Crooked Hillary Clinton is the worst and biggest loser of all time. She just cant stop, which is so good for the republican party. Clinton made the president a punch line saturday night in arkansas. Honestly, between tweeting and golfing, how does he get anything done . I dont understand it. Reporter President Trump toyed with a rematch. Hillary, get on with your life and give it another try in three years. In a radio interview clinton said, the president is getting a free pass. Look, we have a man whos accused of Sexual Assault sitting in the oval office, dont we . And the very credible accusations against him have not been taken seriously. Reporter clinton also raised the 2005 audio recording that donald trump dismissed as locker room talk. You know, the hollywood access tape was not made up. He was describing Sexual Assault. And when youre a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Whatever you want . Grab them by the [ bleep ]. Reporter press secretary Sarah Sanders repeated friday the president denies any improper behavior despite accusations made by a number of women. I think this was covered pretty extensively during the campaign. We addressed that then. The American People i think spoke very loud and clear when they elected this president. Reporter clinton said reactions falla long partisan lines. Look at the contrast between al franken accepting responsibility, apologizing and roy moore and donald trump who have done neither. Reporter clinton was asked if her own husband, former president bill clinton would be judged differently in todays current political environment. She said, you cannot rewrite history but pointed out there was an investigation, he was held accountable and paid an appropriate price. Willie . Sk kelly odonnell, thanks as always. Andrea mitchell in for chuck todd this morning as moderator of meet the press. Great to see you as always. Reporter thank you. Great to see you. Let me walk through the chronology. President trump against Hillary Clinton. First secretary clinton saying there are a lot of questions about the legitimacy of President Trumps election citing the russia meddling. The president then called her the worst and biggest loser of all time. Then she came out and said he has disgraced the office. Says he is obsessed with her. Are we having 2016 flashbacks . As yogi berra said, its deja vu all over again. In fairness, President Trump seems to have reinserted himself back into the Sexual Harassment issue which j shalssue by jumpi senator franken, a groping, an unwanted kiss before he was in politics in 2006 but has yet to speak out personally since he came back from his trip about roy moore, the big alabama race right now where nine women have come out against roy moore. So that has raised questions about the women, more than a dozen, who accused President Trump in 2016 of sexual misbehavior and then, of course, others say the democrats have yet to acknowledge all of the misbehavior of bill clinton. Here we are. But what is really going on today is a real debate about sexual misconduct, about men, mostly men behaving badly, willie, and now on capitol hill as well. I know thats a conversation youre going to lead on meet the press, andrea. This is across politics which you cover every day, media, hollywood, corporate america, it goes all the way down the line. You raised the point about President Trump. The white house, Sarah Sanders, the spokesman for the president , has addressed the roy moore situation down in alabama. As you say, President Trump hasnt said a word about it himself and very quick to tweet, as always, in this case about al franken. Is this really a conversation President Trump wants to have, as you point out, given the allegations that were at the forefront of the late stages of the president ial campaign . Reporter well, it is surprising that he would want to engage on this subject. The fact is that he said on air force one coming back from his asia trip he would discuss roy moore when he got back and he hasnt. Hes ducked the questions. So Sarah Sanders trying to say well, now al franken has acknowledged his mistakes and its different from President Trump because President Trump has always denied what more than a dozen women said about him before he entered the president ial race. I think perhaps the president feels that since he didnt have to face the music, if you will, during the 2016 campaign with the voters, it didnt seem to resonate, that maybe hes oblivious or maybe the voters dont care about it, but it certainly is reasserting that whole issue and it makes it a tough issue for the president as well as for democrats now. And one thing hes hoping will happen is that there will be a new tax bill that gets through the senate, the 1. 5 trillion tax bill went through the house on a Party Line Vote this week. Some hangups in the senate. Does it look to you, andrea, like there will be tax reform before the end of this year . Reporter i think its just too difficult to predict. Theres a lot of power on the white house, a lot of power persuasion, but they can only afford to lose two republicans as long as all the democrats stick and so far they have on the senate side. In the senate bill, it encompasses repealing the individual mandate, the financial underpinning of obamacare which may make it a lot more complicated down the road. Great to see you, my friend. Well be watching meet the press when andrea makes that discussion in this National Moment on Sexual Harassment and whether we are in a defining moment. Shell do it with deborah come stock and debby dingle. Tomorrow morning savannah will have an interview with leig leigh corfman. Some other headlines on saturday the general who oversees the u. S. Doctors are keeping him stable for a hopeful liver transplant. Willie . A lot of people hoping and praying. Dylan is here now with a quick check of the weather. Good morning. Nasty outside in the northeast. It is. Not too cold. The cold air is coming and its all because of the cold front that is producing the heavier rain especially through new england. On the back side you can see where the colder air is because we already have snow falling across upstate new york and lake effect snow is going to start to kick in. In fact, the waters of the great lakes are still quite warm and then when the cold air passes over it we could end up with some areas seeing up to 9 to 12 inches of snow, especially in and around syracuse depending where those bands of lake effect snow set up. She was now wonder woman. It was this summers wonder woman movie that launched her into the celebrity stratosphere. Today the movie has made 821 Million Worldwide and that doesnt count the dvds, dolls, comic books that followed. A mother of two young girls, gadot won critical acclaim. She was named gqs woman of the year. Gal and i got together at atlantic grill here in new york for a sunday sitdown as her new Movie Justice League hits theaters. There are few characters more iconic than wonder woman. This year she finally was brought to life on the big screen by an actor whose name the world is learning to pronounce. Wonder woman is gall gadot and you always will be. They cant take that away from you. What does that feel like as a legacy already knowing that you are forever wonder woman to so many people . I think its weird that people will wake up in the morning and theyre like, im an icon. I am thats not the case. Its like, i do laundry and i cook dinner for my girls. Im going, mother. I cannot stand by while innocent lives are lost. I do feel there was the ability of being a good role model. Im a mother, too, and i want my girls to have good role models for themselves. Behind her shield gal gadot was pregnant with one of those girls and then caring for the newborn as wonder woman became an international phenomenon. It wasnt like i was popping out the champaign like wahoo. I was home with my baby with the very painful back and trying to juggle between two girls and life and home and this and press and the movie. In the theater watching my kids watch i was sort of emotional about the impact it was having on them. How do you explain that impact . What is it about this film that hit people so hard right here . I remember watching different movies and immediately when you see the woman when shes strong, then that means shes tough, shes distant, shes cold. Shes like and how do you tell a story about a woman that is super strong and make everyone feel like they can relate to her story . And i think that the fact that we showed it in the movie that you can be vulnerable and you can be innocent and truthful and loving, like you can have it all. What do you mean women werent into battle . They dont. A baby. Wonder woman is a refreshing representation of women at a time when pervasive sexism, Sexual Harassment and assault are being exposed in hollywood and beyond. Youve been outspoken about whats happening in hollywood. Do some of those experiences sound familiar to you . I was never physically sexually harassed, but the attitude and the mentality is very familiar to me. Experiencing someone who feels superior over me asking me to do something against my will. The fact that its been spoken about now is actually good and is a correction and this is like where the change hopefully begins. As a child in israel, gadot never dreamed of being an actress and her journey to becoming wonder woman was unusual to say the least. To the war. Technically the war is that way but we have to go this way first. Your path to that role is so fascinating from child growing up in israel who loved to play sports, loved to dance to someone who was in pageants with miss israel and joined the Miss Universe pageant to someone who was in the idf to someone who went to law school, became a movie star. Its a crazy way so random. Im all over the place. You finally arrived. We settled in on this one. Is it true that at the Miss Universe pageant you sort of sabotaged yourself a little bit . Yes. I went to the miss israel pageant for the experience never even thinking that im going to win and then i won and for an 18yearold girl i was like, oh, no. Oh, no. What am i going to do now . I dont the responsibility. You know . Now i need to make sure there will be peace and its so complicated. I was like, i just hope its not going to happen again for Miss Universe so i came down late. I wasnt dressed properly. I wore jeans everywhere. Gal gadot, 19, miss israel. Gadot was so determined not to win she even faked a language barrier. Me not speak english. Did you really do that . Yeah. Me not speak english because they ask you questions. Sorry. You flat out lied. I know. How can a woman possibly fight in this . Its itchy. So naturally you go from Miss Universe to joining the Israeli Military because thats how life works. Exactly. I was on boot camp for three months where they keep you in amazing shape and they teach you different stuff. After a year in the army i was a trainer in a facility in a gym so its not like running in the fields. Like i dont even want any country to have an army. I would love for us all to get along and have good life. Did you say that at Miss Universe. You would have won if you said that. I didnt speak english. But those pageants did open doors, first for modeling, then for acting. Gadot leaped from israeli soap operas to a recurring role in the fast and furious movie franchise. Are you one of those boys who prefers cars to women . But the hollywood grind nearly drove her back home to israel. Is it true, gal, that before this audition came up for wonder woman you were thinking about getting out of the business . Yes. You really were . How close were you . I was as close as it gets. Theres so much rejection in this world that i was like, wow, maybe its not for me. But then life showed up again and theyre like, i dont think so, gal. How many of you are there . So that brings us now to Justice League. Yes. It was great for me because after six months of shooting wonder woman i got the opportunity to share the stage with more talented, wonderful people and it was not all on my shoulders. It was a lot of fun. Have you thought yet about wonder woman 2 where the character heads next . So many journeys she can experience. She has so many beautiful values. Each chapter is about different values of wonder woman, i think, that could be in the wonder woman bible. Bible, i like that. And i can confirm she does speak english. This week wonder woman 2 got its release daze date, november 1st, 2019. The sequel will be directed again by Patty Jenkins who so successfully shaped that character with gal the first time around. In the meantime, Justice League is in theaters now. To hear more about my interview with gal gadot check out our web extras at today. Com sunday. A sunday sitdown with tyler perry. When a lot of us were growing up, watching a movie at home meant a friday night trip to blockbuster or to the local Video Rental Store to pick up a vhs tape or later a dvd, but the rise of on demand media quickly ran those stores, including blockbuster, out of business. There is one video chain swimming against that tide and succeeding. In our sunday spotlight nbcs kevin tibble tells us how the company is pulling off a business miracle. All right. Reporter video stores used to be on almost every corner. What is your Favorite Movie . Scooby do. Reporter but thats not the case anymore. Gone are the be kind, rewind, or pay a fine video cassette days. Today the options for entertainment are endless. The video on demand business is booming. From netflix to amazon and hulu, to name a few. That competition just too crippling for brick and mortar heavy weights. Well, today blockbuster admitted its over. Blockbuster announced it will close its remaining stores. Reporter so when blockbuster filed for bankruptcy in 2010, many felt that the family trip to the video store was a thing of the past. But not for one movie rental chain. Reporter people are surprised honestly that were still around. Reporter keith hoeglands Family Business called family video has managed not only to survive but to thrive and that word family is key. You dont think American Families spend enough time together . No, i dont. People forget the great days when you used to come in with your kids, shop, have an experience. Reporter and while you may think that experience is an exception in this rustic town about two hours outside of chicago, its not. Family video has some 750 Stores Across the u. S. And in canada. One reason for their longevity where blockbuster failed is real estate. Family video owns its buildings so when video rentals were booming, it used the profits to pay off the mortgage rather than fall victim to rising rents. But aside from Smart Financial management, the most important ingredient of family video success hi there. Meticulous customer service. Every time i walk in the door i hear, hello. 50 of the customers that come in the store we know by first and last names and we do because we care about them. Theres a sense of inclusion. Reporter Dennis Berkson and his son have been coming here for 20 years. His son mike has cerebral palsy. To them the business lives up to its name. This is not a device, this is brick and mortar. Its old school. You know what else is old school . Connections and friendships and communication and conversations. That support system stretching across the entire community. Kids are encouraged to excel, get an a in school, get a free movie. When you come in here and you see kids running around with the report cards in their hand, its great. Reporter that encouragement extends to their own employees. Spend five years with the company as a district manager or higher and your child gets a full scholarship to whichever college they choose. Have a good night. You, too. If you want your children to work for us, you know weve kind of created a great family culture that they want to be a part of. To me that speaks volumes. Reporter Reese Hampton is part of that culture. He works here part time after school and on fridays when the family video store is buzzing, his mom turns it into an outing for the other kids. What is this, like a social event coming over here . Youre interacting with your own children. Yeah. Reporter what a concept . Its nice. We can come here and get movies, go home and watch them as a family. Reporter theres that word, family again. And its that Human Interaction which keith believes will keep people coming back for more. I think that whats happening in the world is all this electronics is separating you from society. And i think that this pendulum is going to swing back to where theyre looking to go to that coffee shop, theyre looking for their local grocery store, theyre looking for the local video business. Reporter they want to go back to the future. They want to go back. Kevin, thank you very much. Next on sunday today, when Martin Luther king jr.
