Police say a stranger who tried to break up a couples quarrel shot and killed one of them overnight. Nbc10s matt delucia joins us live from the scene. Tell us what youre learning this morning. Reporter the shooting happened along a welllit area at 35th and 36th streets. Police say a boyfriend and girlfriend were walking along here last night. They had an argument. Another person they dont know walked up, got involved, and at one point, three shots were fired at the boyfriend, killing him. We did get images of the person in the police car. Were blurring his face because at the moment hes not been charged. Police questioned him and the girlfriend of the victim. More on this it hand just after 11 30 last night. The man who fired the shots does have a permit to carry a weapon and he intervened y. It led to gunfire is intervened. Why it led to gunfire is the big question. People here are wondering the same thing. Unusual. When i first heard from my roommate that something happened, i was like wow, shocked honestly. Two 16yearolds were hurt when a stolen car crashed on i95 in southWest Philadelphia. Police tell us officer from tin incumbent township timicum township were chasing the teens after they allegedly stole the car. The car caught fire after they crashed. The teens are being treated for scratches and minor injuries. One had burns on his hands. New details about a man injured at the safety station in downingtown. Amtrak police say the victim was burned while walking on the tracks last night. Investigators say he was in a location that he was not supposed to be at at the time. Were working to learn the extent of his injuries. A man is in custody after police say he killed a woman he met on facebook. According to investigators, the suspect stabbed the woman in the West Philadelphia apartment that he shares with his parents. Then investigators say the man dragged the woman outside and lit her on fire. A source tells nbc10 the suspect and the victim started communicating on facebook and met face to face for the first time yesterday. One neighbor tells us shes shaken by the crime. This area is a fairly safe area. Im not going to have this one kind of incident put fear in my heart. Police say the suspect confessed to his parents, and they turned him in to police. Three families are out of their homes after fire tore through an apartment complex in bucks county. A fire last night at the woodborn apartments in levittown also injured four residents and a Police Officer who ran in to get people out. Police say they all suffered smoke inhalation but will be fine. Five units were damaged. No word on what started the fire. 5 05. The judge who sent Rapper Meek Mill to jail has to decide whether to release him before his twoyear sentence is up. Yesterday an Appeals Court denied milan emergency bail hearing mill an emergency bail hearing. The judge was ordered to act quickly and decide whether or not mill should be granted bail. The rappers lawyers claim the judge has ignored their nearly twoweekold request asking for bail. Meek mill was sentenced earlier this month to two to four years for a probation violation. And a trial is scheduled to start today in philadelphia for one of two men charged with defacing the frank rizzo statue in center city. The statue was spray painted with the words black power and other messages back in august. Earlier this month, officials announced the statue would be moved but havent said where it will be relocated. 5 05. Historic artifact at a jersey shore lighthouse are at the center of a bitter dispute. The city of North Wildwood has locked out a volunteer group that maintains the hereford lighthouse. Officials say the group wants to remove the artifacts. The group says thats not true. North wildwood changed the locks until a curator does a full inventory check next week. Mr. Murray repeatedly stated that it was his intention to remove artifacts from the lighthouse. Most of the artifacts belonged to them. There was no attempt to take anything and no statement made.
