It’s a completely different experience than a summertime river float, they say.
Winter river rafting isn’t new — some of Michigan’s liveries have been offering guided winter trips for decades — but it has been gaining in popularity in recent years.
Compared to many other winter activities, like skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling, winter rafting is much slower paced, making it great for nature lovers. It’s a spectacular way to soak in the scenery, guides say, and the wildlife watching is second to none.
