Woonsocket clerk facing questions after drinking beer during meeting

WOONSOCKET – Woonsocket City Clerk Christina Harmon-Duarte is facing questions after she was seen drinking beer during a City Council meeting Wednesday night.
Video from the virtual City Council meeting held Wednesday, March 3, shows Harmon-Duarte drinking a Corona partway through the meeting. Harmon-Duarte can also be seen eating and talking with individuals off camera.
Reached by email on Thursday, Harmon-Duarte acknowledged the incident and apologized for what she said was a "slight mishap."
"If they want to judge me by one slight mishap then so be it," she said. "I’ve been on dozens of Zoom meetings since COVID and never have I done such a thing. Most people don’t even show themselves anymore. I apologize that it happened but I’m only human and we all make mistakes."
