One of the very many questions being asked today and one that continues to come up is about the weapons paddock used mainly how was a retired accountant able to kill so many in such a short time. And were his guns legal. Action News Reporter john rawlins talked to some experts about that very topic today. He joins us live in philadelphias Spring Garden section with more on what youve learned on this, john. Reporter hi, brian. Certainly investigators know the kinds of weapons that were used whether they were semi automatic weapons or as some have speculated possibly a machine gun. They should know at this point whether or not those weapons were legally obtained but they have not made that public so that really leaves the rest of us all in a sense of where we have to make some guesses hopefully some educated guesses. [gunfire] embedded in the background soundtrack of many of the attack videos the relentless and at times rapid gunfire leading to speculation by some that some of the weapons used a automatic machine gun. It sounded to me as though it was a sustained rhythmic fire which would mean possibly i mean, were speculating here that there could have been a fully automatic gun but the problem with that is, is that the guns fired at a very slow rate. Reporter more likely he speculates not a fully automatic machine gun but a semi automatic possibly an ar15 style weapon enhanced to fire at a faster rate. These internet videos from several firms feature add on trigger assemblies and stock that use the guns recoil to legally increase the rate of fire of a semi automatic weapon. It could increase the rate of fire from what is normal with, you know, a fast finger to maybe something thats a little bit faster than that. But the full auto fire is a lot faster, i mean, were talking 800 shots per minute. Reporter whatever weapons were used, the results devastating. Its beyond me how a person who walks amongst others can do this. Reporter but someone did. This is the scene in the work zone by girard avenue and at this point its just a lot of volume traveling in each direction by girard avenue. We had construction earlier on the northbound side of 95 in bucks county but thats cleared out. And just some southbound slowing developing coming out of Mercer County across the scudder falls bridge. That, too, afternoon volume in conjunction with sun glare. And in cherry hill still have those downed wires blocking kresson road. You can use evesham road. They sort of make a triangle there. That will get you around those downed wires. Well check it again, brian and sharrie, coming up in the 5 oclock hour. All right matt thank you. Meteorologist adam Joseph Standing by with that exclusive accuweather 7day forecast. A return of some summerlike warmth coming up next. Just weatherwise a beautiful afternoon under way and meteorologist adam joseph says a lot more of that to come. This is exactly what i like, yeah, 12 months out of the year. Yeah. Is that too much to ask. Yeah. But not this week. Not this week. This week were going to stretch it out. In fact were going to warm it way back above normal by the end of the week. As we take a look at the action cam in Valley Forge National historical park there and youre starting to see a little tint of color there on some of the trees, also the deep blue sky above and old glory there just barely moving under a very gentle wind late this afternoon. As we look at sky6 live in the Weather Center right now going to duplicate that. Not much in the way of ripples on the water as well and this is about as perfect as it gets for the beginning of october and another fall beauty on tap here for tomorrow, even going into the day on wednesday. Protest pretty similar and then the 80s returning and a little uptick in humidity as well and really a minimal chance of any rain over the next seven days. But right now we are settling in the low and some mid 70s for philadelphia, trenton, allentown, 69 a little cooler cape may, the same thing for Long Beach Island at 68 degrees and 73 for both lancaster and were wilmington. High pressure bringing sinking air suppressing the air. Its a bone dry humidity not much in the way of moisture in the atmosphere to develop those clouds so well kind of see this type of picture again over the next 48 hours. So, it is clear overnight tonight and a fairly calm wind. Very light winds, seasonably cool, not as chilly as the last couple of mornings. Were going to bring it up about five trees or so. 43 in the suburbs, 54 degrees for center city which is very average for this time of year. High pressure goes just to the east a little bit on tuesday but this high is so large it basically is going to take over eastern canada, new england, the midatlantic, parts of the ohio valley and into the deep south wedging that sunshine down. So wall to wall sun and another winner with temperatures about a degree higher and then this high splits basically and moves to the south and west and it means more Sunshine Holding this front to the north and west and really ripping apart much of the rain along this front as it tries to move in late week, 78 degrees, those warmer southwesterly winds. The exclusive accuweather 7day forecast, 75 for tomorrow, 78 on wednesday, warm with a little more clouds and the front gets a little closer on thursday. Well move those temperatures up to 84 degrees. Staying in the 80s on friday, partly sunny and staying very mild, another day of 80 degrees on saturday and, oh, yeah, well do it again sunday, 84 degrees which is roughly 15 degrees above normal and maybe a few showers possible a week from now with temperatures still above normal of 79 degrees. And with all of this heat and really dry weather, it is putting a lot of stress on the trees. You may have noticed theyre basically the leaves are just dying and falling off and the ground is very dusty so it may not be the brightest of falls because of this weather. Thats the only downfall. Okay. All right, adam thank you. Yeah. If you would like to help those impacted by the tragedy in las vegas stay with us. Well talk about it in whats the deal. Paulsboros a very proud community. The question many people are asking today is how can i help the victims of the mass shooting in las vegas and one answer is you can donate money. Heres our nydia han with more on how to help. Any time disaster or Tragedy Strikes many people turn to crowdfunding to raise money. This morning the chairman of the Clark County Commission in las vegas tweeted that he set up this goepp fund me page to raise funds for the victims of the mass shooting and in just the five hours it raised nearly 800,000. Now, this is a legitimate campaign and we encourage you to donate but before you open your wallet for another Crowdfunding Campaign, Consumer Reports has a few things you should consider. Over the years ann as seen a number of fundraising campaigns come across her facebook feed and many times shes been happy to help. Ive seen some people in need of medical expenses and then of course if something tragic happens to a family and their children need to be taken care of. Shes not alone. According to a 2015 survey roughly one in five americans has donated to an on line Crowdfunding Campaign where donating feels more personal. I feel like ive become a part of a family of of support for this person. But a warning. Consumer reports says it can be hard to tell if a campaign is legitimate. In fact, there have been documented cases of fraud. Generally the best thing to do is to give only to people that you know, rather than complete strangers. If you dont know the recipient personally dont be the first one to pitch in and read comments from other donors before giving. See what they have to say about this campaign and make sure that its legitimate. Also, avoid overfunding. If a campaign has met its goal. Thats kind of the limit and assume that theyve gotten what they need and dont give anything more than that. Keep in mind the recipient wont see every dollar you give. These sites often charge the campaign a fee to cover things like payment processing. So, if you know the people in need, consider giving them the money directly and cutting out the middleman.
