From the cdc its recommended that we eat two to three cups of vegetables per day but a new study shows just about one in 10 americans are actually eating this amount. In that fact, only 9 percent eat enough veggies and about 12 percent eat enough fruit every day. The lead author of this study says not eating the recommended amount increases the risk for chronic illnesses including diabetes and heart disease. The cdc laid out plans to improve access to fruits and vegetables especially in low income areas. And an easy way to increase your produce intake is to start adding vegetables into things that you already eat. If you have scrambled eggs add spinach or peppers. Pack fruit or vegetables in your bag for an easy snack throughout the day. Rick and monica, back to you. All right. Thank you ali. Lets head over to the Action News Weather Center getting ready for the 6abc Dunkin Donuts thanksgiving day parade and part of the big question every year about the forecast is will the balloons because if you have winds sustained more than 18 Miles Per Hour the balloons are grounded but the good news is it will be a little bit breezy but if you look at at the bottom winds westnorthwest five to 10 miles an hour. Thats fine for the balloons and plenty of sunshine for the day. Bring the sunglasses if youre heading to the parade but bundle up. Its going to be chilly. And the winds will be diminishing as we head through the evening hours. But right now the wind chill has definitely taking notice. 39 degrees is the way it feels in philadelphia. 27 in allentown. Feels like 29 in the poconos. But the winds will change direction tomorrow and what that will do is bring us warmer air. Satellite and radar showing barely a cloud in the sky today. We have High Pressure over us and that will keep our skies clear tonight and its going to be a chilly night. Overnight low 37 in philadelphia, 35 in wilmington, but allentown, down to 29. And reading down to 30 degrees. Planning your day tomorrow with the wind out of the southwest, we do warm things up. Mixture of clouds and sunshine. We start the day at 7 oclock, 40 but by 1 oclock, temperatures up into the upper 50s. 54 is the average high for this time of the year. Temperatures will be slightly above average and then theres a cold front moving through. Future tracker showing wednesday the wee hours of the morning around 3 oclock we likely will see a line of showers but they move off the coast pretty quickly. By 8 30, were drying out. The sunshine is back. Temperatures in the 50s again but that colder air behind the front kind of plays catchup on thanksgiving and that brings us the chisholm the five day at 5 00 tomorrow on the mild side, high thin clouds late in the day, the59 degrees. Wednesday that very Early Morning shower, then sunshine is back, 54 degrees. Thanksgiving some cold turkey out there, some cold turkeys for us at the parade, 45 degrees the afternoon high, temperatures in the 30s to start. Bump it up to 52 on friday for black friday. Saturday 58 degrees, another round of showers but another cold front behind that, the coldest air mass so far this season. Adam will talk about that in the sevenday forecast. Wow. Cold turkey is right cecily. Yeah. Bundle up. Exactly. Thank you. Quick break. More news when we come right back. Stay with us.
