Doctors at cornells Medical College found chemo doesnt provide any clinical benefit for terminally ill patients and may actually worsen their quality of life. The doctors suggest stopping chemo if there is not a clear benefit. Without question, statins have helped millions of people get control of their unhealthy cholesterol, but some people suffer some painful side effects from that drug and today, the fda approved a new class of drugs to lower cholesterol. Reporter a heavy rescue call for some incredibly heavy lifting, after a woman is trapped beneath a vehicle weighing more than 3,000 pounds unable to breathe from the crushing weight. The woman pinned under the car after police say a vehicle turned from the wrong lane, colliding with her motorcycle and dragging her several feet. First responders unable to use a jack to lift the car knew they had to act fast. We knew that we didnt have time to wait any longer. Reporter even with the heavy rescue truck on the way they knew time was running out, so they literally took matters into their up hands. So i told the firefighter i was like, theres enough of us here, lets just lift it up but lets go. Reporter Police Firefighters and bystanders joining forces to perform the up thinkable, lifting the vehicle off the woman. It was pretty easy when all the civilians jumped in if you see the video, civilians came out of everywhere. I dont know who exactly they were, but a ton of people helped. Today, the woman is still recovering from her injuries but just a miracle that she made it out okay and the driver of the car got a ticket for driving without a license. We are just getting new details about the gunman and the victims. And a traffic shift could create delays for you this weekend. The big question, why, it is has been almost 24 hours since the deadly mass shooting at that theater in louisiana. Investigators looking for answers, dig nothing the shooters past. Reporter chris, erika what we are hearing right now are reports that the gunman, the alleged gunman here, John Russel Houser, a history of Mental Illness that included bipolar disorder and manic depression. Police say he had been here in lafayette less than a month estranged from his family, living in a local hotel were he apparently planned last nights attack. Police rushed in just after the first shots rang out. It was just loud like one big, loud bang, made my ears ring. I knew it was a gunshot. Reporter witnesses say a 59yearold drifter John Russel Houser stood up in the crowded theater and opened fire. He looked like he was very calm, standing there, kind of walking down the aisle and firing. Reporter two people were killed in the attack, nine others wounded. Shock. Shocked. I dont even know what to say about the situation. Reporter today, as their investigation continues, police are learning more about the man they say is responsible. He clearly knew what he was doing, clearly had some kind of a plan because he bought the ticket, in the theater, he had the gun. Reporter a plan, that according to officers became more clear as they searched the hotel he had been living in. We found wigs and glasses and disguises basically in his room. It is apparent that he was intent on shooting and then escaping. Reporter things apparently changed when houser spotted officers in the chaos as he was trying to leave. He saw the Law Enforcement local Police Officers, went back inside, thats when he shot and killed himself. Reporter as makeshift memorials grow across this shattered community, police have released the names of the two women killed, 21yearold macy breaux and 33yearold jillian johnson. Dont lose sight of the fact that these two individuals they had a vision, they had a name need future. It wasnt to die as they did horribly in this theater here. Reporter now, police and so many here are trying to understand how and why it happened. And police say there is no clear indication at this point of a motive in the attack the theater remains closed as they continue their investigation here. He was working as a Security Guard in an apartment complex and Prince Georges County police say he and another guard were filling out paperwork when someone walked up and started shooting. The other Security Guard did survive the shooting and police say they have found the car that the suspect drove that night. Officers believe the two Security Guards were targeted. A local day care worker is facing charges tonight accused of abusing babies. And a confrontation that could have ended with deadly force. Who the officer is crediting allegations of child abuse at a pricey day care in the district. The victims, just babies, both of them under a year old. News4s Jackie Benson has reaction from the Kiddie Academy in foggy bottom. Reporter the allegations outlined in the Court Documents are ugly. A 35yearold Child Care Provider claudia roll dan of rockville, has been charged with physically abusing two babies in her care at the Kiddie Academy of d. C. West end, located in an Office Building on 25th street northwest. According to charging documents, one of the children was just three months old. In may, a doctor who examined that child found 12 separate bruises on the infants back left arm and both thighs that appeared to have been caused by blunt force or compressive force. A Police Investigation began detectives examined video camera footage and spoke to a witness who said she had even roll dan pinch other infants. We spoke to parents none wanted to appear on camera who said they were drawn to the facility because of its security measures including video cameras and daily email reports. I just think its the most important thing in the world for your kids to be safe. Who knows how many sleepless nights you spend worrying about that. Hundreds of parking tickets written in the district every day and sometimes ticket takers get it wrong. So far this year, people from maryland are paying the price. Heres wtops ari ash. Reporter virginia and d. C. Drivers must display a sticker on their front windshield. In maryland, no sticker is required, but d. C. Ticket writers still issue 28 tickets for not having a sticker to marylanders in the first half of 2015. Dpw, ddot testimony wtop the tickets are wrong. Those affect already get refunds n 2014, we found 47 inspection tickets mr. Written in error. 25 of those 28 drivers hit with wrong tickets paid up. They are going to get their money back.
