EAST POINT, Ga. - City leaders in East Point removed a proposal from Monday s night s agenda that calls for the curfew for minors to be moved up in response to a triple shooting involving teens at the Camp Creek Marketplace over the weekend.
The overwhelming majority of those who spoke during the meeting s public comment period were more skeptical of that curfew proposal than assured by it.
A police chief and an officer have been ousted from the department in Hamilton, 87 miles south of Atlanta, after video surfaced of the pair disparaging Black Lives Matter protesters in a conversation liberally sprinkled with racist epithets and logic.

Hamilton Police Chief Gene Allmond resigned and Patrolman John Brooks was fired last week after the footage was unearthed by a city employee who was checking to see if the body camera was functional, local station WRBL reported.
