A resident in the Vineland, New Jersey, service area called the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) on Friday, April 30, after she realized her son had accidentally thrown away valuable items in the trash, including her wallet and wedding rings. She had placed the items in a grocery bag that her son mistook for trash.
After calling the ACUA to report the lost items, ACUA Employees Alfredo Perez, Jovani Quiles, Paul Deola, and Ramon Nazario spent an hour and a half going through a huge pile of trash to find the resident s items. The quick-thinking driver remembered where he had dumped the items in the landfill after completing the route that included her address.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Four Atlantic County Utilities Authority employees searched a massive pile of trash to find a New Jersey woman s wedding ring that was accidentally thrown away.
A 10-year-old boy thought he was being helpful when he tossed a plastic bag in the trash last Friday, NJ Advance Media reported. But the bag had his mother s wedding ring, wallet, and some other items.
By the time Ruth Watson, of Vineland in Cumberland County, realized the ring was gone, a sanitation truck had already picked up the trash.

But what he didn’t know was that his mother’s wedding ring was inside.
“It was just a shopping bag from Dollar General and I had set it aside while we were cleaning. But my wallet and ring were inside that bag,” Watson, 41, said Tuesday.
By the time Watson ran outside, the garbage men had come and gone. Also gone was Watson’s wedding ring.
We are so prone to losing so many things over a course of a lifetime. Some things that are precious and irreplaceable are found and some are lost forever.
Luckily, this particular story has such a happy ending for a local resident from Vineland, according to NJ.com. Ruth Wilson not only lost her wallet but also her wedding ring in a mishap that we can surely relate to.
Wilson s 10-year-old-son inadvertently threw out a plastic bag that contained his mom s wallet and more importantly her 15-year-old wedding ring. By the time the gaffe was realized, the bag, the ring, and the wallet were on their way to the Vineland Landfill.
