COVID-19 control room at GHMC head office, 20 doctors appointed

Hyderabad: A COVID-19 control room has been set up at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 20 doctors appointed to man it..
This control room could be dialled at 040-21111111. The officials of this control room shall give healthcare advice regarding Covid-19 and provide medical kits.
The doctors shall work in two shifts daily from 8 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 8 pm. The doctors shall give updates about the measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. They shall also give advice to the Covid-19 positive patients about treatment and other dos and don’ts to be followed by them.

Over 50 deaths a day continue to be reported as 51 COVID-19 patients died on May 4. Telangana recorded 6,361 COVID-19 cases on May 4. While 77,435 tests were performed, results of 3,882 were awaited. From the past six days (April 29 to May 4), around 77,000 samples were examined in a day.

The highest of 1,225 cases were from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), 423 from Rangareddy, 422 from Medchal Malkajgiri. The lowest of 34 cases were from Narayanpet, 35 each from Nirmal and Mulugu.
The case fatality rate now stands at 0.53%, while recovery rate is 82.3%. On Tuesday, 70,961 samples were tested.(Picture used for representational purpose only)
HYDERABAD: Telangana on Tuesday recorded 6,876 new cases, and 59 deaths the highest number of fatalities in a day. With the new cases, there 79,520 active cases currently in the state. The case load since the onset of the pandemic is 4,63,361, while the death toll is 2,476.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 1,029 cases, while neighbouring Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded 502 cases, Rangareddy 387 and Sangareddy 157. The four districts, which largely cover Hyderabad city and its outskirts, accounted for 2,075 cases roughly 30% of the total new cases recorded in the state on Tuesday. Among other districts, which are seeing a massive surge are Nalgonda with 402 cases, Suryapet 372, Karimnagar 264, Khammam 235, and Siddipet 258.

Telangana recorded 6,361 coronavirus cases on Tuesday with a total of 77,435 samples being tested. The death toll has reached 2,527 with 51 more COVID-19 patients succumbing to the deadly infection.
Results of 3,882 persons were awaited.
From the past six days (April 29 to May 4), just about 77,000 samples are being examined per day .
Among the new cases, the highest of 1,225 were recorded in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation region, 423 from Rangareddy and 422 from Medchal Malkajgiri. The lowest of 34 cases were from Narayanpet and 35 each from Nirmal and Mulugu.
More than 1.32 crore samples have been tested so far, leading to the detection of 4,69,722 positive cases. Of the total, 77,704 cases are active cases while 3,89,491 have recovered, according to the government bulletin.

The second wave of Covid-19 began on February 10 when India reported just over 11,000 new cases. In the next 50 days, the daily average was 22,000 cases. In the following ten days the daily average touched 89,800. We are now adding over 400,000 a day.
