COVID-19 control room at GHMC head office, 20 doctors appointed By Mohammed Hussain Ahmed|   Updated: 5th May 2021 3:04 pm IST Hyderabad: A COVID-19 control room has been set up at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 20 doctors appointed to man it.. This control room could be dialled at 040-21111111. The officials of this control room shall give healthcare advice regarding Covid-19 and provide medical kits. The doctors shall work in two shifts daily from 8 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 8 pm. The doctors shall give updates about the measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. They shall also give advice to the Covid-19 positive patients about treatment and other dos and don’ts to be followed by them.

Telangana recorded 6,361 COVID-19 cases on May 4. While 77,435 tests were performed, results of 3,882 were awaited. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 1,029 cases, while neighbouring Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded 502 cases, Rangareddy 387 and Sangareddy 157. The four districts, which largely cover Hyderabad city and its outskirts, accounted for 2,075 cases roughly 30% of the total new cases recorded in the state on Tuesday. Among other districts, which are seeing a massive surge are Nalgonda with 402 cases, Suryapet 372, Karimnagar 264, Khammam 235, and Siddipet 258.
