What States Are Cutting Jobless Benefits?
A growing number of GOP-led states are planning to end supplemental unemployment benefits designed to help out-of-work Americans weather the coronavirus pandemic, a move they say will help businesses struggling to hire employees.
At least 16 states decided over the past week to prematurely cut off the sweetened aid, which provided an extra $300 a week on top of regular state unemployment benefits. The supplemental benefit is not slated to expire until Sept. 6, 2021.
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah and Wyoming announced they will stop giving unemployed workers an extra $300 in benefits sometime over the summer.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer today announced the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is updating the Gatherings and Mask Order to align with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest guidance on face coverings. The new order will effect on Saturday, May 15 at 9 AM.
“With millions of Michiganders fully vaccinated, we can now safely and confidently take the next step to get back to normal,” said Governor Whitmer.
On Thursday, the CDC released updated guidance recommending “fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
The Class 6A Hillcrest Patriots had a successful 2020 season, the Patriots went 9-3 and finished second in Region 4 last year. The Patriots are led by rising junior quarterback Ethan Crawford. Crawford has started for Hillcrest for the past two seasons and will look to lead the Patriots deeper into the playoffs in 2021. The standout quarterback shared on his social media he received a scholarship offer from the University of Tennessee.
Crawford is not ranked on the popular recruiting website 247Sports but they do report that he also has scholarship offers from schools like Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Southern Miss in addition to his Tennessee offer.

What was a shock though was how completely awful it was to try to get data on my cell so I could access the internet. I remember calling my provider and asking them how it was possible that I just moved from horse and buggy territory to a small college city and I could get data just fine in the middle of a cow pasture but not in the middle of downtown Binghamton.
