Two people were injured in a shooting near the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver Tuesday afternoon, hospital officials said.
Around 1 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 500 block of Northeast 87th Avenue at a medical facility across from the hospital, officials said in a statement.
Two people, a man and a woman, were injured and taken to the nearby hospital for treatment, but officials did not say who was hurt or what condition they were in.
The building where the shooting occurred, which offers PeaceHealth Services including dentistry, vision and family medicine, along with the hospital itself were put on lockdown while police investigated.

Frontline health care workers have started receiving inoculations against COVID-19, following fast-track approval by the Food and Drug Administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. In a statement last week, FDA officials said: “Today’s action follows an open and transparent review process that included input from independent scientific and public health experts and a thorough evaluation by the agency’s career scientists.”
