Man Killed In Alexander County Fire Identified

A man whose body was found in a mobile home fire in Alexander County last week has been identified. Alexander County Sheriff Chris Bowman said Friday (April 9) that an autopsy has confirmed the identity of the man as 31-year Jeffrey Lee Bebber. He was a resident of the mobile home on Ervin Lane in Hiddenite that was destroyed by an early morning fire last Wednesday (April 7).
An extensive investigation continues into the cause of the fire by the Alexander County Fire Marshall’s Office, the North Carolina Fire Marshall’s Office, State Bureau of Investigation, and Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.

23-year-old Nathaniel Lee Davis of Taylorsville, 22-year-old Christina Jean Ledford of Taylorsville, 18-year-old Marco Duzell Banks of Danville, Virginia, and 26-year-old Timothy Jordan Heffner of Statesville were all arrested by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. They are all charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury, trafficking marijuana, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver controlled substance. Davis and Ledford are also charged with maintaining a vehicle or dwelling to keep controlled substance. Heffner and Banks are also charged with felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance.
