Let s remember our blessings

Most of us would agree that we can’t wait for disastrous 2020 to come to an end. The coronavirus reared its ugly head early in the year, and then came Hurricanes Laura and Delta. However, we can’t let Christmas come and go and forget the blessings we have also enjoyed. The state’s first COVID-19 case was reported on March 9, and the deadly coronavirus pandemic disease by Tuesday had claimed over 6,800 lives in Louisiana. And the nation is currently in one of its most deadly coronavirus surges. Hurricane Laura hit Southwest Louisiana on Aug. 27, and Hurricane Delta came six weeks later. Our homes and businesses have been devastated, and the return to normalcy could be years away.

Thew feast of The Conception of St Anna in Jerusalem | Serbian Orthodox Church [Official web site]

24. December 2020 - 15:20 On Tuesday, December 9/22, 2020, the Patriarchate celebrated the feast of Saint Anna’s conception. On this feast the Church commemorates that the noble couple Joachim and Anna, being childless, entreated God to give them a child, and God granted their request, by giving them Mary. Keeping their promise to God, they offered Mary to the Temple of Solomon at her third year of age, and our Lord Jesus Christ was born from her, through the Holy Spirit. This event was celebrated by the Patriarchate at Joachim and Anna’s house, next to the Sheep’s pool, before Saint Stephen’s Gate, inside the wall of Jerusalem. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Master of Ceremonies Archimandrite Bartholomew, and the chanting was delivered by His Eminence Metropolitan Joachim of Helenoupolis.

Infirmity of Jesus is a Teaching of Christmas, Pope Says

Taarifa Rwanda Published 3 months ago 0share The birth of Jesus is the most powerful sign and message of hope in a world darkened by the shadows of fear and uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We bring you the voices of religious leaders and heads of Christian charitable organizations as they look to a future in which “No one is saved alone.” Christmas teaches us that God did not look down upon us and pass by but He fully assumed our nature and our human condition, except sin. This event gives meaning to human existence and to the whole of history and can remove the pessimism generated by the pandemic.  Pope Francis made the point in this week’s general audience, two days before Christmas.
