Michigan Judge Considering Request to Dismiss Election-Related Case
A judge in Michigan will rule next week on whether to dismiss a case alleging that fraud occurred in the 2020 election.
Judge Kevin Elsenheimer of the 13th Circuit Court heard arguments on the motion to dismiss on May 10 and will take about a week to decide whether to allow the case, Bailey v. Antrim County, to move forward.
Lawyers for Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, and Antrim County are seeking to end the case because they argue that the plaintiff, voter William Bailey, has been given the relief he sought last year when filing a lawsuit.

A federal judge who dismissed two of
Lin Wood’s post-election lawsuits last year and called one of them “astonishingly speculative“ refused on Monday to recuse himself from the pro-Trump lawyer’s case against the State Bar of Georgia.
Wood sued the State Bar of Georgia earlier this year in response to the bar’s previously confidential inquiry into his post-election conduct and its related demand that he receive a mental health examination.
That case landed before U.S. District Judge
Timothy Batten, a
George W. Bush appointee who had previously dismissed two of Wood’s other lawsuits that landed on his docket last year after the 2020 election.

Senate Republican leaders are setting the stage for a new legal fight with Maricopa County.
Kory Langhofer, the attorney for the Senate, said he will be issuing subpoenas today for all five Maricopa County supervisors, demanding they appear to explain why they won’t surrender certain equipment and information for review as part of the audit of the 2020 General Election returns. Langhofer also said the Senate wants to hear from Scott Jarrett, the county’s director of election day and emergency voting.
