Despite drastic reduction in
Covid cases, seven doctors working in Chamarajanagar district hospitals have now tested positive for Covid, four of who were among the first in the district to get Covid vaccines. The health minister
Dr K Sudhakar was quick to reiterate that immunity is developed only weeks after getting the booster dose of the
jab.
This is the reason why experts have been saying that even those who are vaccinated should follow all Covid precautions and guidelines.
Dr Mahesh, an anesthesiologist at Chamarajanagar district hospital and also a Covid nodal officer, Dr Harsha (assistant professor), Dr Damayanti, Dr Girish Patil, Dr Shashank, Dr Naveen Chandra and Dr Chetan have tested positive in the last one week. While one of the doctors has been admitted to a hospital (as he has a child at home), the other six are now under home isolation and do not have any major symptoms.
The polio vaccine programme, which will cover 64,07,930 children in the state, will be flagged off by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa at his home office.

BENGALURU: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who inducted seven new ministers recently, has reshuffled his cabinet for a record third time in just five days. On January 21, he carried out his first reshuffle and as loud grumbling and complaining arose from the ministers, he reshuffled the cabinet again on January 22. With no let-up in the complaints, he has now been forced to reshuffle the portfolios again for the third time. Each time, the central leadership of the party had been consulted.
On the first day of the vaccination drive, Karnataka s capital city saw 350 of the 475 targeted workers turn up for the jabs, but the numbers have dropped significantly since.
