Province offers funds for Ptarmigan Court buyouts; Scott optimistic in flood prevention plans

Article content The provincial government has offered $11 million to relocate people in Ptarmigan Court. However, Mayor Don Scott said the money comes with conditions but doesn’t know what they will be. “Historically, the province came in and looked after the buyout process entirely. So what they’re trying to do is make sure somebody else looks after it,” he said. “They want to get the benefit of contributing to it, but then they want to throw conditions on it that might not make it easy for the municipality to accept.
