Gaslighting piece to be performed by Susan Wokoma
Kiri Pritchard-McLean has written a ‘funny, dark and ultimately empowering monologue about gaslighting’ for London’s Old Vic Theatre.
Chewing Gum star Susan Wokoma will perform Putting A Face On, which will be streamed for free from March 8 to coincide with International Women’s Day.
The Domestic Abuse Bill also enters its report stage in the House of Lords in the same week, and the theatre says Pritchard-McLean’s piece ‘offers insight into the nuances of emotional abuse, victim-blaming and control’.
The Chortle Award-winning comic – who will also direct the work - tweeted that she was ‘absolutely blown away I get to write for this theatre and this actor,’ adding: ‘Dream job stuff this!’

Netflix says: ‘With his sharp observations, satirical wit and philosophical contemplations, Loyiso challenges societal norms and makes you question everything you thought you knew about politics, race and history.’
Gola previously recorded a half-hour special at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival, released as part of Netflix’s Comedians Of The World series, and a full-length show in New York, released via Vimeo.
