Dr Davis will return to these roles once Tom Abell starts. The Trust was placed in special measures after the Care Quality Commission report in September 2020 stated that EEAST required improvement . Their inspection found poor leadership had fostered bullying and abuse.  CQC inspected the trust between 25 June and 15 July 2020 about the safeguarding of patients and staff from sexual abuse, inappropriate behaviour and harassment.

East Beach Shoebury: Kite surfer rushed to hospital | Braintree and Witham Times

A man was rushed to hospital following an accident while kite surfing near Southend. Southend Coastguard were called out to help the male around 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday, May 9) amid reports of a casualty near East Beach in Shoebury.  The RNLI had used the hovercraft to rescue the man out at sea and bring him to shore safely.  He was placed on a stretcher and carried back to a nearby road where he was left in the care of paramedics.  The coastguard says the kite surfer suffered possible serious leg injuries.  A spokesman added: The casualty was stabilised in the ambulance before transfer to hospital.

Cyclist injured in crash on Felixstowe Road, Nacton

The crash happened on Felixstowe Road, near Sainsbury s supermarket (stock picture) - Credit: Google A man has been injured following a crash involving a bicycle and a car in Ipswich, police have said.  Officers were called just before 12.30pm to reports of a crash involving a car and a bicycle on Felixstowe Road at Nacton. The incident happened near Sainsbury s on the road heading out of town. The cyclist sustained injuries but they are not believed to life threatening or life changing, a spokeswoman for Suffolk police said.  An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Two ambulances attended a road traffic collision on Felixstowe Road in Nacton just after 12.30pm today. An adult man was assessed and treated at the scene and did not require transportation to hospital.”

Mr Abell, currently deputy chief executive at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, will formally take up the role in the autumn. Ms Hosein, who took over leadership of the service in 2018, told staff of her plans to step down in January after a severe bout of Covid. EEAST was rocked after a highly-critical Care Quality Commission inspection report was published last September, in which the watchdog uncovered allegations of bullying and sexual harassment.

The East of England Ambulance Service has selected Tom Abell, deputy chief executive at Mid and South Essex NHS, to become the new permanent chief executive in the autumn. Announcing the appointment, EEAST’s chairperson Nicola Scrivings said: “Tom brings significant experience in the NHS and, just as importantly, has been a key part in building a positive culture for staff. “These qualities will be central to building and leading a stable and successful executive team to continue to improve our culture for our valued staff, and maintain high-quality services for our patients.”
