Isuzu UK has named Welsh franchised retailer David Taylor Garages as its Dealer of the Year 2021 as it celebrated the “talent and expertise across its growing UK network” with a string of awards presentations.
Last week the 4x4 specialist brand revealed its plans to expand its UK retail network by 10 sites in 2021 as it prepared for growth resulting from the imminent launch of the new D-Max pick-up.
But before gathering momentum with the new addition to dealership, it handed out awards to high-achieving operators who topped 18 categories, recognising a wide range of services, from customer care and finance to accessory and fleet sales.

Isuzu UK has revealed plans to add a further 10 new franchised retail sites to its retail network in 2021 as the new D-Max pick-up prompts further growth for the brand.
The retail network – operated by Isuzu and Subaru importer IM Group – welcomed 10 new franchise operators to its network in 2020 and said that the introduction of the new pick-up warranted further expansion this year.
Set to arrive in the 102-strong Isuzu UK network’s dealership in March, the new D-Max is the brand’s first all-new model launch since 2012 and has led the operation to set “ambitious long-term sales objectives”, according to a statement issued today (February 3).

Isuzu D-Max RT50 (2012 to 2017)
The D-Max RT50 was launched in 2012, replacing Isuzu’s line-up of simple, tough Rodeo trucks that had been knocking around since 2003.
These new vehicles brought in considerably more refinement, but they were still geared toward the working, rather than lifestyle, end of the market.
Isuzu kept things simple, with all UK-sold vehicles running a twin-turbo 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that developed 163hp and 400Nm torque. This was allied to either a six-speed manual transmission or five-speed auto, with a simple two-range transfer box.
Buyers had the option of single-cab, extended-cab or double-cab, with the latter coming in either Eiger, Yukon, Utah or Blade specs. The differences between these double-cab variants were mainly down to trim and equipment levels.
