MUSIGA launches UNESCO/ECOWAS supported Covid-19 campaign

The campaign is supported by the Ministry of Information, the National Commission on Culture, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the Economic Commission of West African States (ECOWAS). The launch is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 11. The initiative is at the instance of ECOWAS and partners to use culture and the creative arts of member states to create much needed awareness and promote COVID-19 prevention messages, key to preventing and limiting the spread of the virus.

He has, therefore, put out a single called Pay Double, which is a feel-good, easy-to-digest track to uplift moods and somehow help people deal with these uncertain times. “Many are turning to a variety of substances and habits to boost their moods or alleviate boredom. They are generally anxious about the circumstances we find ourselves in now but no antidepressant or medication is better than cheerful music that makes you feel good inside. Music is healthier than using drugs or drinking to change your mood,” Tony D says.

5 journalists petition Charterhouse for diversity in VGMA Board, Nominations Listen to article Five journalists in Ghana have petitioned Charterhouse Productions Ghana, organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ceremony to endeavour to ensure there is diversity and fairness in the awards. According to the petitioners, the VGMA over the years has honoured largely artists who live and work in the nation’s capital Accra whereas those in the remaining regions have been side-lined. It said the board of VGMA has no regional representation and asked Charterhouse to expand the board to include other stakeholders from regions in Ahafo, Bono, Northern, Oti, Savannah, Upper East and West Regions of Ghana.
