UPDATE: 16 new COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay area
Seven of the new cases are connected to outbreaks at the correctional centre and the jail.

THUNDER BAY The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports 16 new COVID-19 cases in the city or immediate surrounding area.
Four of the cases are connected to the outbreak at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre, and three are at the Thunder Bay District Jail.
Five other cases are listed as close contacts with previously identified cases, while one has no known source of exposure.
Another case is related to travel outside Northwestern Ontario, and two are still pending.

Public Health Ontario has reported 1,969 new cases of COVID-19 today.
For the second day in a row, the total new cases reported today include a data catch-up from Toronto Public Health as it migrates to the provincial data system.
The province is also reporting 2,132 new recoveries and 36 deaths in its latest update, including 19 people who were residents at long-term care homes.
The deaths reported today include one person between 20 and 39 years old, two people between 40 and 59 years old, 10 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 23 people over the age of 80.
COVID-19 Updates/CKDR Files
A new COVID-19 positive case is being reported in Pikangikum First Nation.
That brings the total to 3 cases in the remote community and all individuals are isolating safely at home.
Case and contact management has been on-going and the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority Preventing Infectious Diseases team will continue to support the community and closely monitor the situation.
The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting no new cases Monday.
There are currently 17 active cases.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is recording 14 new cases, 10 related to the Jail outbreak.
There are 143 active cases.
Ontario is reporting 1,969 new cases and 36 more deaths.

Fourteen new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Thunder Bay District, with 10 of those at the Thunder Bay District Jail.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced the latest positive tests on Monday, with all of those cases located in Thunder Bay and the surrounding area.

More new COVID-19 cases are cropping up at the Thunder Bay District Jail and Correctional Centre.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting five new infections, three of which are at the Jail.
One is connected to the outbreak at the Correctional Centre, and the TBDHU is still looking into how the remaining person was infected.
Seven more people are no longer testing positive, dropping the active case count to 143.
Ontario’s new case numbers have dropped below 1,900, as the province confirms 1,848 new infections.
