Salvation Army Thrift Store expansion planned
By Jackson Stephens
The Salvation Army is moving forward with plans to expand its thrift store by the end of July and beginning of August.
The expansion will lead to the store moving to better accommodate their inventory. It s still in the preliminary stages of submitting all paperwork, said Salvation Army Capt. Kari Rudd adding that an official announcement of the new location and opening date expected will be made public soon after.
The current Tamuning location, which it moved to in 2017, has been limited. This lead to having to decline donations.
“We need to expand because we need to make more money so that we’re actually solvent, said Rudd. The Salvation Army runs on a deficit, so our Divisional Headquarters and Territorial Headquarters actually cover the expenses of what we give to the community on Guam.
