BCCC Celebrates the Season of Giving | Beaufort County Now

WASHINGTON, N.C.     This year especially, as campus has been quiet and many families have had to cope with the consequences of an unmitigated pandemic in the United States, the Beaufort County Community College community has joined together to collect funds and supplies to make the holidays brighter for all of our community members. Student and employees collected donations for Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army and the Beaufort County Humane Society; hosted an Angel Tree; and donated to Adopt a Senior. First-year ADN students came together to help the Humane Society of Beaufort County by gathering pet food and toys. Angel Tree still provides despite 2020 | News, Sports, Jobs

Dec 21, 2020 Give credit to the folks at the Salvation Army in Marietta, they didn’t let this strange holiday season and three times the usual number of children registered stop them from putting together an Angel Tree program that fulfilled its mission and provided Christmas gifts for 560 Washington County children. A change in location and format helped keep the distribution process safer. “It’s been chaotic in one sense, as we’ve had a lot of differences from last year,” said Lt. Megan Moretz of the Salvation Army in Marietta. “Having a secondary location for the first time. Obviously having three times the number of kids we’re used to having. Just all the precautions we’ve had to take with COVID make for a very different year.”

CSRWire - International Paper Supports the Memphis Community This Holiday Season

International Paper Supports the Memphis Community This Holiday Season Published 12-21-20 Submitted by International Paper Company November and December traditionally come with many opportunities for Memphis-based International Paper colleagues to come together to serve those most in need during the holiday season. While team members were not able to volunteer in person due to social distancing efforts, International Paper is proud to continue to support the Memphis community this holiday season. The mobilization of our products and resources helped nonprofit organizations to serve those most in need during multiple holiday community events: MEMFeast 2020: Traditionally held at Memphis City Hall, this year 3,000 meals were prepared and distributed in to-go containers from food trucks and tents that were set up at six church parking lots throughout the city. International Paper provided funding and 2,000 corrugated trays to assist with food distribution to those in need.
