The renovation of the former Arey building is going to cost the Fort Dodge Community School District nearly $100,000 more to complete.

Chippewa school board hires Ira Hamman as treasurer

April 12 meeting KEY ACTION  Voted unanimously to hire  Ira Hamman as the district s new treasurer. Hamman s first day will be May 17.  DISCUSSION Hamman most recently worked as treasurer at Fremont City Schools. He replaces Molly Koch, who left in February. Hamman did not appear at the meeting, though he is expected to be at the next one, along with interim Treasurer Christine Angerer. Hamman s contract runs through July 31, 2024, board President Linda Fenn said. Board member Bernadette Rohr thanked Fenn and Superintendent Todd Osborn for their work on the search. It was intense, Fenn acknowledged.  The board hired the Summit Educational Service Center to conduct the treasurer search. Ten people had applied for the position, which the ESC narrowed to seven, then down to three for board members to interview. Interviews took place April 1.
