COLUMBUS, Ohio (TNS) â The COVID-19 pandemic sparked a slew of mental health issues when it started more than a year ago, and as the virus recedes itâs likely to do so again.
Although a full return to pre-pandemic life may be months or even a year away, Dr. Tanya Middleton is already hearing from clients about the stresses and anxieties of returning to normal. Middleton, a clinical assistant professor at Ohio State University, is also a licensed counselor and runs a private practice in the Cleveland area.
âThereâs still that fear of: âAre we doing this too soon?â â Middleton said of returning to normal life. âThereâs understandably a lot of anxiety wrapped up in that.â

Jon Shay, 78, passed away at Noyes Hospital on Monday, Jan. 18. He left behind an enriching legacy that cannot be replaced or measured.
Jon Shay touched every life in his hometown of Dansville and beyond. People called him Mr. Dansville. They will tell you he was everywhere at once. He was at all of the events, impacted every life he touched, and made you believe in yourself.
Tom Wamp, Dansville Rotary Club member and a childhood friend, said Jon Shay was the key to making anything a success in the community.
