A couple of weeks ago BBC and World of Wonder unveiled the 12 fierce competitors that will sashay into the werkroom for the long-(we repeat,
long)
–awaited sophomore season, which was put on hold in March due to COVID.
Just like its debut, which saw The Vivienne triumph as the UK’s First Drag Superstar, the season will include a diverse array of entertainers – expect comedy, glam, old school drag, and even some horror.
Season two, which will run for ten weeks, will see the return of RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton, and Alan Carr, with Alan and Graham joining the panel on a rotational basis.
Scarlett Moffatt with drag artist friend Tess Tickle REALITY TV star Scarlett Moffatt and singer Joe McElderry will take to the airwaves on Pride Radio tomorrow. The inclusive radio station – which broadcasts from Pride Media Centre in Gateshead – has a worldwide audience of listeners and has pulled out all the stops to make sure Christmas Day has something for everyone. Singer Joe will join presenter Kelly Scott for the breakfast show from 7am to 10am, with guests including Steps star Fay Tozer and Drag Race UK finalist Vinegar Strokes. Then at 10am Scarlett Moffatt, from Bishop Auckland, will take to the airwaves, with guests including drag stars, Tess Tickle and Emma Royd social media legends LadBaby and LadyBaby Mum, Drag Race’s Courtney Act and television favourite Danny Beard.

RuPaul’s Drag Race (season 13) & RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (season 2)
Drag Race fans are getting a double dose in January with the premieres of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 2. Shot during the pandemic, season 13 will open with 13 contestants squaring off in six lip syncs for their lives. Then, half way through the month, the second season of the British version kicks off. The cast is much bigger than in season one and RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr return as judges. The shot-in-quarantine finale of season 12 was pragmatic but also a creative shakeup the show needed. Here’s hoping pandemic measures
It s just that being able to do nothing. In this show, when you re filming, genuinely, you couldn t do anything and I had no one to talk to all day. If I wasn t filming, I would just be staring at a blank wall. I found it really hard, she said.
The celebrity version required the stars to film for just one week rather than the usual three. I could not do it for three weeks, she continued. Genuinely, it was probably the hardest thing I ve ever done. I found myself sleeping all the time, too. When I got out I didn t care about my phone. I really thought I would miss it, but all I missed was communication with people. All I wanted to do was actually see someone and talk to someone. It was really lonely.
