National flag carrier on Thursday announced the inaugural direct flight from Lahore to Bahrain. According to the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesperson, the national carrier will operate weekly two flights to Bahrain, for which arrangements have been put in place. The first flight will leave for Bahrain from Allama Iqbal International Airport on May 7 (Friday), while the second PIA flight will depart for Bahrain from New Islamabad International Airport on May 10. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has allowed PIA to operate weekly two flights for Bahrain. It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has slashed 80 international flights in the light of National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) directives to contain the surge of the third wave of coronavirus. ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Thursday announced to start weekly two flights for Bahrain from today (Friday), Dunya News reported.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has allowed PIA to operate weekly two flights for Bahrain. Flight operation for Bahrain was suspended due to coronavirus pandemic.
According to sources, the first flight will leave for Bahrain from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport today (Friday), while the second PIA flight will depart for Bahrain from New Islamabad International Airport on May 10.
PIA Restarts Flights to Bahrain
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to restart direct flights to Bahrain.
Earlier this week, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had allowed the national flag carrier to resume flights to Bahrain by operating two flights weekly.

“Around 12,38,000 (12 lac and thirty eight thousand) doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca’s AZD1222 COVID-19 vaccine (Covishield) are arriving on May 8 at the Islamabad Airport. It is the first shipment of Covid-19 vaccine being supplied through COVAX to Pakistan from a non-Indian source,” an official of the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHS,R&C) told The News on Wednesday.

RAWALPINDI: There was a sudden increase in the number of travellers at the Islamabad International Airport on Thursday who wanted to reach the United Kingdom before the deadline of April 9 as the Pakistan International Airlines completed its flight operations with 13 chartered planes to send about 3,000 Pakistanis.
The PIA arranged chartered flights from different countries on short notice to transport thousands of Pakistani migrants to the UK before the deadline, which is 8pm on Friday according to local time. The UK government put Pakistan on the “red list” of countries on the advice of health experts and set a deadline for Pakistani migrants to go back to the UK.
