Akron Police detectives are investigating after a 58-year-old man was found dead in Grace Park on Saturday afternoon.
Police say they were called out to the 200 block of Park St. for a shooting on Saturday, just before 4 p.m. When they arrived on the scene, they found the victim on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

AKRON, Ohio â A beekeeper for a dozen years, Sarah Smithers was tending to some of her honey bees around 5 p.m. Sunday when she was startled by the sound of gunshots on East Buchtel Avenue in Akron. It was like, What the hell? Smithers said. I saw a dude with a gun shooting.
What Smithers didn t realize at the time was that the gunfire killed 48-year-old Kristopher Roukey, a Lyft driver and a married father of two from Hudson.

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron Police are urging the community to come forward and identify the April breaking and entering suspect who may have committed the same crime back in December.
Police said the suspect broke into Mickey’s in the Valley on 1310 Weathervane Ln. on April 26 and stole several items.
Investigators believe this is the same suspect who broke into other businesses in the area in December.

AKRON, Ohio A driver dropped off a teen gunshot victim at a hospital, then managed to escape from police after leading them on a chase.
According to police, officers patrolling downtown at about 1:35 a.m. Saturday heard gunshots in the area of East Buchtel Avenue and Maiden Lane. When they went to the area, they saw a red Dodge Durango speed off.
Police followed the Durango to Summa Health Akron City Hospital, where it dropped off an 18-year-old male who had been shot in the chest. The vehicle then sped off with police in pursuit.

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A person drove away from the scene of a shooting, dropped a victim off at the hospital, then led police on a chase early Saturday morning, according to a release from Akron police.
Police said around 1:35 a.m. Saturday, officers heard gunshots in the area of East Buchtel Avenue and Maiden Lane. They said they saw a red Durango speeding away from the scene.
