Author: WKYC Staff Updated: 5:21 PM EDT August 2, 2021 SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio Editor s Note: The video in the player above is from a previous report.  As the state of Ohio sees an increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, local health departments continue to prioritize vaccine distribution.  On Monday, Summit County Public Health announced additional opportunities for residents to receive the COVID -19 vaccine.  The most recent effort to reduce severe illness, hospitalization and death, as well as slow the spread of the disease, is a home based vaccination program available to all Summit County residents. The program allows Summit County Public Health employees to visit the homes of individuals and administer the vaccine by appointment. Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson and Johnson are all available through the home based program.
