Texas Tech taps Michigan State dean as new provost

Ronald L. Hendrick, dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University, has been appointed Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Texas Tech, effective July 1.
He replaces Michael Galyean, who recently announced his retirement after serving in the role the last five years.
In addition to his role as dean, Hendrick is a professor in the Department of Forestry and was appointed to both positions in 2016. He oversees all academic, research and outreach efforts of CANR, which includes 12 academic departments and schools, the Institute of Agricultural Technology, MSU AgBioResearch and MSU Extension (MSU Extension).

BENGALURU: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is the topmost Indian institute in the QS university rankings which were out on Thursday. It has a global ranking of 172, which is 20 slots behind its 2020 ranking. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore placed second with a global ranking of 185, one slot lower than the previous year s rank.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) placed third in India with a global ranking of 193, which was a fall from its previous year s ranking of 182.
Next among the handful of Indian institutes to feature on the list was Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) ranked 275, a fall from its previous year s rank of 271.

The University of California, Davis, has taken top spot among universities in the nation for its inclusiveness, diversity and internationalization in rankings released today (May 5).
In the second annual QS USA University Rankings, UC Davis ranked sixth overall among public universities (34th among all institutions) in the nation and fourth among public universities (seventh among all universities) in California. In the diversity and internationalization category, the campus tied for top spot with the private New York University; last year it also tied for first in the category with New York University and UCLA.
NeuroInsight, a new research training programme led by RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, has been awarded a Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND worth €4.7 million.
