Todd Maisch, president and CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, said the government of Illinois needs to give more weight to the state’s economic crisis as the new year begins.
“Government has focused on the health crisis, as it should have, but they have not held up their end of the economic crisis,” Maisch said. “We have thousands of businesses out of business because of that.”
As Maisch sees it, state government edicts that have restricted and shut down businesses because of the pandemic, are preventing thousands of businesses across the state from opening back up and operating in ways that allow them to be sustainable.
