SAIL supplies average 660 MT of medical oxygen in last six days ANI | Updated: Apr 22, 2021 19:27 IST New Delhi [India], April 22 (ANI): With increase in demand for medical oxygen due to surge in COVID-19 cases in the country, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) said on Thursday that it has supplied on an average 660 Metric Tonnes (MT) of liquid medical oxygen per day from its plants in last six days and supplied 891 MT of LMO on Wednesday. SAIL said in a release that it has already supplied 36,747 MT of medical oxygen since August last year. With increase in demand of LMO in the country, SAIL has enhanced its focus on increasing the production since beginning of this month. In the last six days, the company has supplied, on an average, 660 MT of LMO per day from its plants. On April 21 alone, the company has supplied 891 MT of LMO, the release said.

India oxygen crisis: Tata Group donates cryogenic containers

By Nick Parkinson2021-04-21T09:30:00+01:00 Tata Group is importing 24 cryogenic containers to transport liquid oxygen as coronavirus (Covid-19) cases continue to surge in India amid an oxygen shortage in the country. The Indian steel giant has made the donation in an attempt to support the supply of liquid medical oxygen around India. Tata says it is importing 24 cryogenic containers via special charter flights.  “Given the oxygen crisis, we are putting in all our efforts to support India’s healthcare infrastructure. This is our collective resolve to fight the pandemic,” Tata said in a social media post. “To mitigate the oxygen crisis, here is one such effort to boost health Infrastructure.”

SAIL s Super Specialty Hospital at Rourkela to be used as Covid Care hospital ANI | Updated: Apr 15, 2021 21:41 IST New Delhi [India], April 15 (ANI): The Steel Authority of India Limited s (SAIL) Super Specialty Hospital at Rourkela has been approved to be used as COVID-19 Care Hospital, said the state-owned steel manufacturer on Thursday. Minister of Steel and PNG, Dharmendra Pradhan had instructed the hospital to be used for COVID-19 care in wake of rising cases in the region. The local district authority had also sent a request for utilising the ICU facilities of the Super Specialty Hospital for treatment of Covid-19 patients. The 60 bedded ICU facility of SAIL-RSP will be used for COVID-19 care. This hospital will further augment the treatment facilities for covid patients in the state, an official statement said.
