His visit has been labelled as one that gives a push for developing a ‘modern Assam’ when he dedicates three projects of petroleum ministry worth over Rs 3,000 crore to the nation. Modi will also open the first course of Dhemaji Engineering College and lay the foundation for construction of eight engineering colleges at Sualkuchi near Guwahati via video conference. “This shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to develop a modern Assam,” chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said.
