SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office is seeking a transient man who failed to appear in court.
Jonathan Walter Laketa, 61, reportedly has lived in Placerville, South Lake Tahoe and Sacramento County but is currently listed as a transient in El Dorado County.

Laketa has an outstanding felony warrant and two misdemeanor warrants totaling $130,000 for possession of a controlled substance, vandalism, bringing contraband into the jail and failure to appear after being released on his own recognizance.
Laketa is 5-foot-10 and weighs approximately 165 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Convicted of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, Timothy Neil Clark, 51, of Cool, was sentenced to life in prison Monday by El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Daniel Proud.

He took the lives of Roseville husband-and-wife Daniel Sanford, 93, and Shirley Mae Sanford, 85, April 1, 2020, when driving his Dodge Durango with a blood alcohol level of .24% at speeds nearing 70 mph he crossed over the double-yellow lines of Highway 49 just north of Coloma and hit the vehicle the Sanfords were traveling in head-on.
Clark was also found to have committed felony insurance fraud, collecting unemployment insurance from the Employment Development Department while he was held at the El Dorado County Jail on DUI murder charges.

A man was sentenced to life in prison after a crash killed an elderly Roseville couple in 2020, the El Dorado County District Attorney s Office said.
Authorities said the husband and wife were driving along Highway 49 when Clark s Dodge Durango veered off the highway, crossed over the center median, and went into opposing traffic, hitting the Sanfords car.
Daniel Sanford was killed instantly, and Shirley Mae Sanford died several days later after being taken to the hospital.
Citing investigation details, the district attorney s office said Clark s vehicle was going nearly 70 mph before the crash and that Clark s breath test showed his alcohol level at .24%, three times the legal limit.
