The road to the crowning of the PBA Philippine Cup champion looked more of a journey than a destination as the pro league endured rough roads in order to complete the 45th season that was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the first ever, the PBA staged a two-month bubble in Pampanga while reducing the season to only the Philippine Cup which was suspended in mid-March following the lone opening match between San Miguel Beer and Magnolia at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The PBA took steps to move closer to a possible return. Throughout June and July the PBA worked to get the teams back to practice. On July 18, the league announced that the Philippine Cup would be set for October. Practices were halted again in mid-August as Metro Manila locked down.
Many groups placed their bids to host the PBA Bubble and the league announced on September 17 that Clark, Pampanga would be the host. The delegation would stay at the Quest Plus Conference Center and games would be played at the Angeles University Foundation Arena.
The IATF did not approve the plans until September 24 and PBA teams started making their way to Clark four days later.
MANILA – The Clark Freeport Zone is geared up for the hosting of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers (ACQ) February Window, chief of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, Vince Dizon, said.

tayo (Even if the next challenge is an international event, we are ready),” Dizon said during the online Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum on Tuesday.
The bubble’s setup will be relatively identical to that of the recently concluded Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) season.
All delegations will be billeted at the Quest Hotel in Mabalacat, Pampanga, and follow a hotel-arena – hotel transportation format to the Angeles University Foundation (AUF) Sports and Cultural Center.
