The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said it will partner with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to enhance its operational capabilities within Enugu state. The FRSC Sector Commander in Enugu State, Mr. Joseph Udoabba, said this when he paid a courtesy to the management of EEDC at its corporate headquarters in Enugu, recently. Udoabba said the visit was essentially to, “further fortify and cement the already existing cordial relationship between the Command and EEDC.” A statement quoted him to have added: “I hope we will continue on that cordial note.” He also commended the efforts of the EEDC in ensuring effective electricity distribution in the state as well as the entire south-east states.

Enugu electricity company decries persistent threats, violence on staff

ADVERTISEMENT The management of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has decried the persistent and unlawful threat and violence on its members of staff on field duty within the South-east. This is contained in a statement issued by the management and signed by the company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, on Saturday in Enugu. The statement was issued on the sidelines of a viral social media report, titled: “Enugu Micro-Finance Bank Threatens Legal Action against EEDC over Invasion, Unlawful Disconnection of its Premises.” According to Mr Ezeh, such appears to have become a trend in the South-east as staff are routinely exposed to threats and outright violence while performing their lawful duties.
