LASG is on the right track with the proposed electricity policy and we applaud the State government for this pioneering effort to decentralise and democratise the supply of electricity to Lagosians. The Lagos State government recently released a consultation paper on the Lagos State Electricity Policy. Enugu – Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), on Tuesday received the “Best in Human Resource Development for 2020” award from the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
The award was presented at the EEDC Headquarters in Enugu, to the Head, Human Resources, EEDC, Mrs Nkiru Chukwuma.
ITF’s “Best in Human Resource Development” award is designed to recognise brands passionate about continuous learning and development of its employees.
This is expected to yield an overall improvement in performance across a broad range of operational and customer service activities.
The Area Manager, ITF Enugu, Mrs Uzoamaka Yahaya, who made the presentation, said the award was in recognition of EEDC’s efforts in the area of human capital development.

Over 50 communities in Enugu State and two communities in Ebonyi State have been thrown into darkness following the vandalisation of the Amechi–Awgu 33KV mainline, which supplies electricity to the affected communities.
The spokesperson for Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (
EEDC), Emeka Ezeh, made this known in a statement on Friday in Enugu.
Mr Ezeh said the activities of the vandals occurred at Nenwe junction, down to the World University along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The EEDC spokesperson said the vandals removed about 40 spans of aluminium conductors on the line, as well as the collapse and damage to 15 high-tension poles.
