Since the dawn of the corona crisis, we have been told over and over that the world has changed forever.

Our new normal includes physical distancing from others. Our new normal includes wearing masks where appropriate. Our new normal includes us knowing where this virus is each and every day, where we live, where we work, where we want to travel.
DUCEY: What we’ve gone through and the challenges that I’m sharing with you really is Arizona’s new normal. And it’s our new normal for the foreseeable future. I really want ask people to get their heads around that.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan 26, 2021) – A portrait series by Lexington artists Kurt Gohde and Kremena Todorova titled, “56 Lexington Women of Color: In Honor of VP Kamala Harris,” features a number of University of Kentucky faculty and staff members. The series serves as a tribute to Kamala Harris, the first woman of color to be elected to the office of vice president.
“On the day Senator Kamala Harris made history as the first woman and the first woman of color to become Vice President-Elect, Kurt and I started work on a series of 46 photographs to celebrate Harris and to honor Lexington women of color who lead,” wrote Todorova on the project website. “We began by recognizing we had already photographed many women of color who are leaders in our community for the project “Lexington in the Time of COVID-19”. So we wrote to each of them to share about what we were doing and to ask if we could include the portraits we had taken of them.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 25, 2021) In an email to faculty, staff and students today, University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto sent a message of hope as the Spring 2021 semester begins approaching a year into the COVID-19 pandemic. The message is below.

Nearly a generation ago, in a deep and distinctive voice, Maya Angelou told the gathered inaugural crowd that they stood “on the pulse of this new day.”
She called on the country to face a horizon that “leans forward, offering you space to place new steps of change.”

LEXINGTON, Ky.
(Jan. 25, 2021) The University of Kentucky is welcoming students back to campus for today s first day of the Spring 2021 semester. As a result, there will be some changes to parking and transit operations beginning Monday, Jan. 25.
Parking
All student and employee parking lots and structures return to normal parking control Monday, Jan 25.
Students and employees who park in the Kroger Field Blue Lot will notice an increase in traffic, as a section of that lot is now being used for parking related to COVID-19 vaccination and testing. The vaccination clinic is open six days a week Monday through Saturday. While much of the Blue Lot will be used for this purpose, the portion adjacent to University Drive will remain available for student and employee parking and is expected to accommodate demand. In the unlikely event that the Blue Lot fills, students can also park in the College Way Periphery (K) lots.
