Jaishankar to join G7 ministers to agree on action against threats to democracy
LONDON, May 4: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will have his first interaction with the G7 leaders in London on Tuesday evening, when he joins foreign ministers from some of the world’s leading democracies to agree on decisive action on the most critical global issues such as threats to democracy.
In the first major in-person diplomatic gathering since the coronavirus pandemic began and the first gathering of G7 Foreign Ministers since 2019, UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will lead discussions on pressing geopolitical issues that threaten to undermine democracy, freedoms and human rights.

The G7 renewed their support for a political solution to the decade-long conflict in Syria as foreign ministers met in London to discuss efforts to address shared threats, including terrorism in the Sahel.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said G7 foreign ministers would continue to work to advance all aspects of the UNSC s resolution 2254, which urges a ceasefire and political process, to end the suffering of Syrians .

Jaishankar meets UK minister Priti Patel to sign Migration and Mobility Partnership agreement
LONDON, May 4: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met British Home Secretary Priti Patel in London on Tuesday to sign a new Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement, which he said would strengthen the “living bridge” between the two countries.
According to the senior Indian Cabinet minister, the agreement will facilitate legal travel and encourage talent flows between India and the UK. It is one of the outcomes related to a Virtual Summit between Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled for Tuesday.
“A fruitful meeting this morning with Home Secretary Priti Patel. Signed the Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement that would facilitate legal travel and encourage talent flows,” Jaishankar tweeted alongside images of his meeting with the British-Indian Cabinet minister.
